Blue Water Bistro, South Lake Tahoe

Our first visit, August 6. 2011, was wonderful. We came to Timber Cove Lodge from Reno, for one night, and didn't even have to move the car to get a wonderful dinner! Our server was very knowledgeable and the food was delicious. Very different things on the menu and we had a difficult time choosing. The views of the lake from the restaurant were breathtaking. We can't wait to come back!

This is our favorite restaurant in South Lake. We love the atmosphere, the view of course, but more, the food. We have been there at least 6 times in the past 3 years and never disappointed. Sorry the other reviewer didn't like creative cooking, but we love it.

All I have to say is what a shame. Can I say that again..What a Shame. We went there for dinner and all I have to say is, great location with terrible food. Why would you try to do an American steak and sea food Bistro with an East Indian influence?? Why?? My Girl friend had the Pistachio Crusted Halibut with curry...why use curry??..It just overpowered and ruined the fish! On the menu it just says Pistachio crusted Halibut nothing about curry! I didnt know you can screw up halibut! I had the peppered steak that was cooked medium rare as I always order. The good news is it came to me medium rare as ordered however it was like eating leather. I believe they froze that piece of filet too many times or cooked it while it was still frozen! My dinner came with French fries that should have been called Indian fries..you guessed it, it was deep fried with curry! Again, I ask you why?? Why change something that works. Why try to reinvent the wheel? It's my opinion that the owner must be East Indian which is fine but please either be an East Indian Restaurant or be a true Surf and Turf not BOTH!! The best thing about this place was the View and the wine. Oh the service was good as well. I just can't believe I cancelled my reservations at the Riva Bar and Grill for this disappointing place. I will never go back except to drink a glass of wine on the pier at sunset!

Saturday January 27, 2007 My wife and I were refered to the Bistro by Elese @ the Artifacts shop and we had lunch. Blustery day and we had clam chowder and salads. The chowder was a real treat, and the salads were stunning in taste and presentation. The staff were very attendant and professional and warm and helpful too. This is a Do Not Miss if you enjoy fine food.

What a perfect place for breakfast, lunch, or dinner right on the lake. The food equals the view with a relaxed and fun atmosphere. Great for just a drink or a full fledged party.

Great place to eat. Beautiful food, beautiful setting, and pleasent staff.
