Lanza's Restaurant, Kings Beach

This was a good resturant at one time. It is not anymore, I,m sure the children must be running it or ruining it,the latter seems to fit. Ate here last night,will not be comming here any more,Subway down the road would have been better.

Food is pretty good, filling etc

We found the exterior of Lanza's one of the better looking places on the North Shore, and there were lots of cars there so my wife & I took a chance. The service was good, and people were friendly. Now all they need to do is work on their food!!! My wife had Lanza's Special & I had Lanza's Sampler, both with Mama's meat sauce. On a scale of 10 with 10 being good, both dishes would have rated about a 4. The first food I've ever had where I didn't want a to go box. Very little taste, just basic pasta sauce. Prices start at about $16, and for that one might expect a little creativity in the kitchen. Sadly they even charge extra for stuff like: Cheese for your salad $1.25, Meatballs or Sausage for your pasta $3.95. The bread they bring to your table looks good, but once again no flavor. Next time we are staying on the north shore I guess we'll grab some Stouffers, and through it in the nuker. Save a bunch of money & actually enjoy our meal.

From the outside, the place doesn't look like much, but go inside and try anything on the menu and you'll see why people pack the place. The food is traditional Italian and of the highest quality. I really think its one of the best restaurants on the North side of the lake. Oh and don't forget to ask for an italian margarita (sounds strange but definately yummy).

This may be kind of long, so for those people not wanting to read on and are looking for good food, nice atmosphere and great service, this is the height of of dining in North Lake Tahoe. That being said, let me be more detailed. Went there tonight for dinner and just can't say enough good things about it. The place was packed for a Wednesday night in the off-season, so it seems to be a local favorite. They have a nice bar to have a drink while you wait and even happy hour is worth the trip. Everyone is very friendly and pleasant. Our dinner was delicious and nice big portions. Even the side of vegetables was done perfectly. Homemade desserts finish out the meal perfectly (we had the Tiramisu). Prices are very reasonable. This restaurant just has a nice hometown feel, where you always feel welcome and can count on a great meal. I want to take a moment to make special mention of Melanie, our server. She was a delight! Very pleasant to talk to and very helpful. She took time to chat with us, kept tabs on us throughout dinner and really put the bow on a wonderful dinner. As I mentioned in the opening, if you want the best food in Kings Beach and a restaurant that you can always count on, this is it! Thanks to Lanza's and hope your visit is everything mine was. Great food! We go there every time we are in King's Beach. They serve authentic Italian fare, on classic red and white checkered tableclothes. Very friendly servers, great bar, and most importantly- AWESOME FOOD! TRY THIS ONE!
