Manago Hotel, Captain Cook

In outward appearance and published room rates, this hotel doesn't even try to keep up with the times. It is a small, funky, old-fashioned hotel in the village of Captain Cook. Operated by a local family for three generations, the hotel is proud to offer rooms at reasonable prices. The low rates are good values at a Midwest motel; in Hawai'i they're unbelievable. Rooms are simple and spare, furnished either in Western or Japanese fashion. The lowest room rates apply to rooms with a shared bathroom. The grounds outside are serene and pretty, featuring a Japanese garden and a koi pond.
