Heidi's Pancake House, South Lake Tahoe

So So Breakfast - IHOP is better. Heidi's is loosing customers because they Don't substitute anything - even when My Wife is Alergic to bread and Dairy.

My husband and I were in Tahoe in mid August 2010 and took a chance and went to Heidi's for breakfast. We had casually asked some locals how the food was and they had highly recommended it so we went in. We were VERY pleasantly surprised. The food was fresh and delicious and the service (which is very important to us) was even better. It as so goo that we ate there all 3 days that we were in Tahoe. I highly recommend it and we will definitely be back on our next trip!

We went to Heidi's on 1/11/2010 with two other people and we all agreed that the food and service was far better than most eateries anywhere. We went there for breakfast and were seated and served coffee immediatley. I don't think the naysayers went to the same place or maybe they were bitter at having lost money at one of the casinos. If I ever go back to Tahoe, this place and Earnie's will be on my itenerary

My husband and I ate at Heidi's five years ago when we got married in Lake Tahoe. When we went back recently for our anniversary I said we have to eat at Heidi's. I have to say I was not disappointed either. We ate there two mornings in a row. The food is delicious and the staff is very nice. It is a little pricey for breakfast but with all the food they bring you can skip lunch. I am already craving this place. Can't wait to get back. Heidi's if a must if you are in Lake Tahoe. Even if you have to wait...it is well worth it.

After reading reviews about Hedi's I decided to add it to my stops on my recent trip to Reno and Lake Tahoe. We were seated very quickly, our waitress was wonderful and made us feel very welcome. Our food came promptly and was wonderful, pancakes were a little small, the men thought but just the perfect size for me. Prices were about the same as Ihop, but I thought the food was much better. I would go out of my way to return to Hedi's pancake house.

I came here last weekend (MLK weekend) and the place was packed. We were told the wait would be about 20 mins and we were seated in 15. I got the blueberry pancakes and they were DELICIOUS!! The coffee was poured as soon as we sat down and the waitress was as sweet as can be. I will go back there next time I am up in tahoe. This place is totally worth the wait!!!

Heidi's pancake house is more along the lines of a fast food restaurant. It is similar to a Denny's regarding the food and service. The location is very close to the water as well.

Unfortunately this restaurant did not live up to its ratings. The coffee was bad, I typically drink 3-5 cups with breakfast. I thought the first cup was a mistake, but when the 2nd cup was the same, I did not drink it. The service was subpar, apparently the water and coffee is filled by someone other than the waitress and they did not seem to come around. My wife's eggs were cold and my omelette was not very flavorful. I expected much more from the supposed No. 1 breakfast place in South Lake Tahoe. I will not be returning.

Ate there all during this Labor Day weekend because it came highly recommended by 2 different locals. The food and service was every bit as good as they said. Yes, there was a waiting line but she seated us even sooner than she had said and coffee arrived immediately, server had a smile on her face, and food was awesome. What more could we want?! A couple of our friends are vegetarians and they were happy to have so many selections. We'll be back for ski season!
