The ultimate escapist resort, this place combines classic elegance with utter seclusion. The result is a lovely, peaceful hotel that seems to be (and in fact, nearly is) in a class by itself. The hotel is set in the tiny settlement of Hana Town, a few minutes' drive from waterfalls, sacred sites and legendary beaches. While the town itself offers almost nothing in the way of shopping or dining, the hotel's restaurant and gallery are among the finest on the entire island of Maui.
