Anna Miller's 24 Hour Rstrnt

Description

Located in the Pearl City region of Honolulu, this upscale coffee shop evidences some Hawaiian and Asian influences. In addition to standard American fare such as burgers, sandwiches and entrees, you can order a first-class bowl of Saimin. For omelet lovers there are more than a hundred varieties to choose from. Fresh strawberry pie and hot fudge sundaes are two dessert items that definitely hit the spot. You can also grab a drink at the bar downstairs.

Big Mistake
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 7/11/07
I am a local and have been to Anna Miller's on many occasions. The breakfast is pretty decent however today I decided to try one of the early bird specials served between 4-6:30pm. Big mistake...I ordered the prime rib w/mashed potatoes. This is the first time I have eaten prime rib that taste like pipikaula. The mashed potatoes, gravy and the au jus all tasted like they came out of a package. When I asked for creamy horseradish, my waitress came back with a little cup that really look like someone's leftover. Very unappealing. Then we ordered banana pie (yes, I'm crazy but it's Anna Miller's, the house of pies right.) It looked like it fell off the plate and was picked up. Needless to say, what a turn off. I will be bypassing them even for breakfast now.

Best breakfast!!!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 6/19/07
Last week we returned from our first trip to Oahu. We had always wanted to visit the Pearl Harbor Memorial and we were so excited the day we went that we left our hotel without eating breakfast. When we arrived at Pearl Harbor much to our dismay, we discovered there would be a two hour wait for our boat. We asked one of the employees there where the closest good place to have breakfast and he recommended Anna Millers Restaurant about 5 minutes away in the Pearlridge Center. When we arrived, there was a waiting line, but truthfully we were sort of glad, because we assumed it had to be good if people were waiting, and the wait was very quick considering how many people were there. To our surprise and joy, we had a FABULOUS breakfast. One of our party tried a smoked salmon eggs benedict which was amazing! As we walked out, we noticed they had won an award for the Best Breakfast and can certainly understand why. Our trip to Pearl Harbor was as moving an experience as I've ever had and only enhanced by how pleasant our breakfast experience had been. i only wished I didn't live an ocean away.. it would be my regular weekend breakfast haunt. Many other better places to go
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 4/28/07
Anna Miller's is an unthinking destination because it's convenient. That's about it. The food is not so good, the service is average, the decor is...well...truck stop modern. There are many other much better places to go. Any of the Zippy's Restaurants is a better bet for breakfast and a slam dunk better for lunch or dinner.

We'll be back for sure!
The overall apperance was inviting and the servers were great and friendly not to say the food was great. I even joined the seniors group and got a pie and a discount. We ate there three times in the short time we were in Oahu.

Everything is sticky.
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 2/22/07
This restaurant is dirty. The hostess sat us down on a table that wasn't even clean. The food tastes like it was made at a gas station. I haven't seen a male waiter yet but I wonder if its because the men would refuse to wear those little skimpy outfits. I don't want to return, but people like to go there on our lunch breaks....by the way...I'm pretty sure that reviewer below was dead on about the bad service....after all..there is only one Anna Miller's on the island although I saw one in Japan..and it was empty. I don't care how good the pies are. It's filthy in there, including the bathrooms.

Don't go here if you're hungry!
By Linda, 12/29/06
We had a big party & wanted it all to be on 1 receipt but the hostess could've mentioned that we could've been split by waitresses & have all the receipts go to 1 person. Instead we were all on 1 receipt so supposably only 1 waitress was helping us although another waitress helped 2 of our party. Our order was not taken promptly, then when the orders did come, one of the order was not correct so she ordered after she made a mistake. 2 of the kids had to wait for the food & everyone else was practically done. The waitress was flustered because she was taking care of 2 big parties. The asst mgr was no help. When we asked why hadn't they split us up so it would've been easier on the waitress if 2 or 3 waited on us, she said that someone requested 1 check & that means 1 waitress. This is after she asked if someone else wasn't helping out the waitress also. Then after we're done eating dinner, my husband & myself felt really sick & had the runs. We think it's the mac salad. This is one of the worst restaurant experience I have ever had. I would reconmmend eating elsewhere.

Great pies! Good Service!
The last reviewers must have gone to a different restaurant than I did. I'm not a local and service was fine. Food was hot, good, and pies were wonderful!

Disappointed
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 8/16/06
This place has always been a family favorite, but not for the past few years. Went there recently for the pies. The meal was good until we got our entree. It was the worst prime rib I had eaten, if you could call it that. Pies were good as usual. Maybe if they had a head chef or cook that could upgrade the quality of the food, I think this place would have lines out the door daily. Also make sure you get the cornbread.

I should have read the last review.
By Kailua Girl, 8/6/06
Poor service. Watched the locals get served first. When my meal arrived, it was cold. Will never ever return. The locals can keep this dirty restaruant.

Never
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 7/13/06
This is my third try eating at Anna Millers. The food is mediocre at best, your average greasy spoon...but the reason why I am not returning is because if you aren't a local (or you are white), you sit there and watch everyone else around you get served first. Last Sunday, I watched a couple get served breakfast while we sat down atleast 5 minutes before they did. This isn't the first time, but the third. Funny thing is, I am half Filippino and half White, but look White. There is food all over the ground, the tables are sticky and the waitress' wear too much makeup. I won't ever return to this prejudice establishment.
