Awful, awful! The dine in experience is horrible, waitress gave the table we were waiting for and the table she said she was clearing for us away to a larger party for a bigger tip. Thought to give it another try, ordered a pizza to go, got it home and it is completely burnt all around the edges. Are you serious? As a local in Tahoma, I beg you, bring back Angela!
We read the reviews, it was close by, so we tried it. What a mistake. Other than the service, which was ok but not great, the experience was awful.
First, they ONLY have pizza, but online menus and reviews claim a lot more (including tacos and many pasta dishes--in fact they had . . . one).
Second, the pizza is some of the worst we have ever had (the whole family, very different tastes, agreed.) The dough--are you ready?--almost certainly is premade frozen pizza crust. No, I am not kidding. You know when you buy it at Costco or the grocery store and it has those little pinholes around the edges? So did this pizza. You know when that pre-made crust breaks instead of tears or rips like good homemade crust? So did this. No homemade bubbles in the crust, no variation AT ALL. It was frozen. It it was obvious. And it was like cheap cardboard. Halfway through the meal I walked closer to the kitchen to see them make it. No one tossing dough into the air, no flour visible. I almost threw a public fit. The sauce was not as good as Ragu in a jar; the toppings were passable.
We knew we were in trouble before the pizza arrived when some guy walks in carrying a baby in one arm and a drill in the other. While we were eating, not ten feet away, he erects a ladder and proceeds to drill and install . . . a DISCO BALL. This was evening rush hour on a Friday night. Just pathetic.
We dropped $50.00 (they even charge $2.00 for a refill on a kid's soda) for one of the worse dining experiences in modern memory, If I could give this no stars, I would. Eat elsewhere or don't eat at all. Either option is better.
We were happy to see the pizza place open again, this time with killer tacos, too!
We didn't try the pizza yet; but I think the current owners used to be in nearby Homewood, where they had been making tasty pizza for several years.
The simple taco plate (two tacos) was delicious, filling and cheap! A selection of quality wines available, too. Great beer on tap.
A comfortable, friendly place with a local, friendly atmosphere.
This location used to be a Tahoma Institution; Angela's Pizza. I remember 15 years ago, sitting in Angela's eating piza when the Gas went out at home she was till serving. Now we have West Side Pizza; and I have to say it was a humble beginning, the crust left something to be desired.
Lately though, this has improved; and the food has as well. The amibiance is Old School, with the bar and the pool table at one side, with the seating and tables at the other. They have started offering Burritos for linch, which seem to live up to everyone's ravings.
This is a great place to have good food and good company; and hey, I like it because I can walk there from my house. Hope to see you there!
