Wolfdale's Cuisine Unique
North Lake Tahoe's premiere restaurant and popular bar offers lake view dining with excellent ambiance and service. Wolfdale's Restaurant uses 'Cuisine Unique' to describe the fresh food prepared simply and aesthetically. Since opening in 1978, Chef Douglas Dale has developed the style of East-West cuisine.
I coldn t understand why this restaurant would have only 3 stars, but then read all of the reviews. Wolfdale s serves the freshest of ingredients in an imaginative and lovely format. A 5 star rating is relative to what is available in this area. Diners who do not appreciate innovative cuisine, or the modest price point for this caliber of food, should get their burger elsewhere.
This Restaurant has to be one of the worst Over Priced dinners we have ever had.oh my gosh a luke warm no taste Lamb Shank for $34.00 and a Lobster Dinner that was over cooked and was like rubber. Stuffy Waiter overpriced wine list. If you must dine there go in for the Appetizers they are tasty, then leave and go to Sunnyside or Jakes.Wolfdales has to be a major tourist trap on the North Lake Blvd or they would be out of business a long time ago!!!!!!Ambiace very little !!!!
I was expecting a better experience then I got. The food was just OK, for a place of this supposed caliber. The prices are high, all entrees about $30. It was not up to the expectations. The wine list was way over the top on the prices. I guess if you want to feel good about spending a lot of money, regardless if you get value, go ahead! There are other places to go in the area that are better, as far as food and price! The hostess was really fine though!
We had one of the best restaurant experiences at Lake Tahoe.
It is unusual to find this type of place in a resort area. We thought the menu uncomplicated, not too large and every item we tried was great. After a day of skiing our appetites were ready and this place delivered. Sophisticated, relaxed and completely satisfying. We will recommend it to all of our friends.
These guys try too hard -- which is both a good and a bad thing. Their menu is a bit *too* innovative. But at least it is the most interesting thing on the North Shore. Their death knell comes from their preposterously priced wine list. Most restaurants charge 150% - 250% of retail per bottle. Wolfdales charges 300% - 400%. This means that commonplace wines are $50-$60 (Joel Gott California Zin for $50!?), and that nothing interesting is under $100. At least Plumpjack in Squaw Valley pairs an interesting menu with interesting and affordable wine.
This beautiful building is a reconstruction of the gatekeeper's cabin, which served as a residence for the dam attendant at

This two story Queen Anne style home, built in 1902, is a good example of a Lake Tahoe summerhouse for
the rich. In the upstairs of the mansion you will find exhibits pertaining to the Hellman Ehrman family. A ...
