Description
The Albatross was established in 1987. In October 2005 Jon & Kym Adair purchased the restaurant and have since worked hard to have The Albatross provide dinners with the highest consistent quality of food and service. We have upgraded product quality in all areas and are constantly looking for ways to improve our product. Our goal is to keep the best reputation in town for Steak, Seafood and Prime Rib. We have done updating inside and out to offer a charming dining environment. Please ask to say hi to Jon or Kym when you come in.
Terrible Service-That's Because They are Closed. If you go there, they will not even have the curtesy to give you a menu. In fact they not give you a table. I hate restaruants that take forever for you to get your order in. But with these guys it really does take forever actually it's really never. If you go in anyway you could be arrested for trespassing and that would make for a very bad evening.
Wine list is not upto par, No french wines., The food preparation varies.
Even the Salad Bar , my wife's favorite, at times is not stocked and the host
has to be notified.
I had a filet and it was amazing! My wife had the ahi tuna and she said it was the best she's ever had. Price was about the same as the other nice places in town BUT you get the great salad bar, whereas at the other places, you pay $5-$8 more for a salad. So, taking that into account, the Albatross definitely has the better value, not to mention the food in my opinion is better than the other pricey joints. This restaurant could stand some updating on the interior design, but this is more than equalized by the friendly, polite staff
This restaurant was awful. The service was inept & arogant. The food was
over rated for the menu. At the time the reservations were made, there was no mention of a limited menu. We observed one table of 8 customers leave without ordering because they too had not been warned in advance that there was a limited menu. We arrived at 7:00Pm and were seated in a room with no music. At 7:45 we asked to see our waitress because we had not ordered yet. We had to request for each course of our meal and were insulted by the server for doing so. I could go on but enough is enough. I would never come here again.
I had one of the best Filet Mignon's I have ever had at The Albatross. It was extremely tender and the taste was excellent with the topping of port wine.

I had an incredible rib eye steak there. It was perfectly grilled along with the grilled asparagus. It really is the best steak I've had in Chico. My wife had a chicken dish and thoght it was great. It was a little pricey, $30 for an 18oz rib eye, but it was worth it.
