Frasinetti's Winery & Restaurant
Founded more than 100 years ago, this combination restaurant and winery is the oldest family-owned wine producer in Sacramento. The Frasinetti's features Redwood walls, burgundy tablecloths, candlelight and huge wooden vats. The cozy bar features a beautiful rock fireplace and French doors leading to the deck and gardens. Capellini Pomodoro (pasta in tomato, basil, mushroom sauce with Mozzarella cheese), and Risotto Encrusted Salmon (topped with mushroom risotto) are among entree choices. Free wine tasting is available in the gift shop or tasting room.
Getting there is a little strange--going along the railroad tracks in this very industrial area. But, once you get there, you'd never know you were in the city. It's so charming and quiet (unless a train goes by). The food is fabulous and the service is outstanding. I think it's one of Sacramento's best kept secrets.
This place is a little interesting getting to, but that is part of its charm. You'd never look for a restaurant here. As soon as you drive through the gate, you're in a romantic hidden gem. The wine is great as is the food. The atmosphere can't be beat anywhere in Sacramento in my opinion
I can't give this restaurant more than a three. Though the menu is well written to make everything delicious sounding, the execution and taste of the food is not exceptional. The service, value, and ambiance is fine, except for a few dining areas that occupy former concrete tanks. Inside these, the noise from the rest of the restaurant can be quite loud and echo. Parking is rustic, and as you've likely read elsewhere the road to the restaurant makes you wonder if you're in the right place. Probably not the most impressive place to take a date or friends from out of town.
Outstanding, Frasinetti's Winery is Sacramento's answer to The French Laundry in the Napa Valley. The food, the service and the people are 5-STAR. You can make reservations, walkin as a party of one or 20 and the food and the service is WORLD CLASS. You can feed your family and friends and still be able to go to the movies afterwards.
A hidden gem! We were looking for a different dining spot. I found this after scrolling through 10 pages of options. Don't be discouraged by the street. The food was delicious and portions were large. The wine list is above average.
I absolutely love Fransinetti's. Their pasta is amazing, and even though it is not on the menu, the chef is always willing to whip up some garlic toast...delicious sourdough covered in minced garlic and fresh parmesean. It is so good! Lots of small, personal touches, make this place a real gem.
Frasinetti's is hidden in the least likely of places. It has a historical atmosphere. The food was good and the prices were right on the money. It's great that you can taste their wine at the wine tasting shop next door so you know what to pick for your meal.
