Expensive yet located in the middle of the ghetto..
Pizza is ok if you eat it right out the oven. If you wait longer then 8 minutes to eat you start noticing how oily they make e'm.
Nevertheless, this place is always packed at peak hours and a decent resturant to eat at.
A better pizza alternative? Chicago Style Pizza..
this place sucks ... 5 reason not to go
1) you might get jacked as you walk to ur car
2) the pizza falls apart as u eat it
3) ur order might no be what u asked for
4) the crust is hard and cracks as u bite into it
5) it's $25 for a pizza that they use ways to much salt
O.k. I confess when it comes to food in general, I'm very critical however Luigis Pizza is the best Sacramento has to offer! I was introduced to the food at Luigis at an early age, and it has been a staple in my family for 40 + years. I've traveled the globe including 5 continents, and I've yet to taste a pie that rivals the Luigis Special with one exception, a small guesthouse in Babenhausen Germany, run by an Italian family.
I must admit however, I have not patronized Luigis establishment in some time because of a menu change/pizza ingredient substitution without notifying the customer = me. In protest, I've chosen exercise my consumer power and enjoy a cross town rival and favorite. Not as tasty but, it runs a close second.
Overall, the food at Luigis is Excellent, the communication, not so good.
they say its the best pizza in sac, but i say its the best pizza in california. my boyfriend works there and he was the one who introduced me to this pizza joint and i'm not really a big fan of pizza but when i had my first bite into their luigi's special, i couldn't stop! and that ranch!! oh my goshhhh, it was the best ranch in the entire universe, and i'm not saying this because my boyfriend works there. infact, i hate ranch. but THIS one is to die for. the workers are very polite and cater to my every need and the owner is a sweetheart. he's really nice and shows a great deal of concern for each costumer that walks through the door. if you're in the mood for the best pizza you'll ever have, then luigi's is the place to be. this place still better be up and running so that way when i have kids, they can go there and enjoy what i was able to enjoy.
Not just the best pizza in town, but possibly the best pizza anywhere. The ranch dressing is a MUST have topping, and a closely protected secret too. I've been cooking over 40 years and cannot duplicate this ranch! ARRGHH!! In business since 1953 and hope they are still around in 2053 so my great grandkids can enjoy like I do!
Lugi's has the best pizza and lasagne in town. I've been going to Luigi's since the 1970's. The owner Celso is always friendly and he knows everyone. He is well repected by everyone in the neighborhood. That man has worked really hard in his business and he never treats anyone bad. If Celso had an attitude you would never know it because he is always and I mean always a pleasant man. We love him and his pizza!!!!!
