Had my breakfast here last week while on business errands. Actually, a friend of mine from here recommended this place. The Huevos Rancheros has always been a favorite breakfast. Not disappointed because it exceeded my expectations. Highly recommended.
We ve been going to this restaurant for years and always enjoyed our food and the atmosphere. However, after going there again for my birthday yesterday, I was not so pleased. We took the remainder of our dinner home and my husband found a long hair in his burrito. He could not finish eating the rest of his meal. I am undecided as to whether or not we will go there again. 1st bad experience in 16 years.
I have been eating at El Novillero since it was a converted hamburger stand over 30 years ago. While it is not a converted hamburger place anymore, the food is always great, service is excellent, and atmosphere is nice. Their dishes are authentic, prepared and presented very well, and taste delicious. The Chili Verde is probably my favorite dish. But, you can't go wrong with anything on the menu. Taking the family for my and my wife's wedding anniversary and her birthday. There will be 15 of us and I would never take them to just any old place...
I have been there about 20 times usually on special events and this is one of my favorite restaurants in Sacramento.
The location is a little sketchy, but the food, service and atomosphere is fantatastic and I would definately recommend them to anyone looking to have a great night our with family and friends.
