Tower Cafe

Description

An eclectic crowd, night shift and early shift workers come for the breakfasts. Try the Huevos Rancheros or a plain eggs-and-toast breakfast; the portions are generous. A variety of entrees is featured for lunch and dinner, ranging from seafood such as grilled swordfish (plump and flavorful) to spicy Mexican carnitas. For dessert, the bakery provides exceptional cookies, mouth-watering cakes, and various pastries. During lunch, the patio is usually crowded. If you want to sit outside (particularly on a nice day), expect a wait.

Folks, Great food and atmosphere, wonderful for a glass of wine in the garden in the evening. But other reviewers are welcome to be critical, since it reduces my wait time for a table....

I just don't get what all the fuss is about, or is it that not much else is around. Or better yet, people are happy with poor service, so-so food, and paying extra for a chili pepper. I know this review won't make a difference...they continue to get plenty of business.

Hadn't been to the Tower Cafe in over 15 years. My wife and I stopped for a late lunch and enjoyed some of the best tasting food, ever! I, the chinese chicken salad, my wife, the curried chicken sandwich. I told the waiter this was the best tasting salad I think I'd ever had. We don't live in Sacramento, so we only eat there en route to or from home. I told my wife that the Tower Cafe could well become a destination point for us. I'm looking forward to trying some of the other colorful entrees on the menu. Five stars, for sure.

I make a mean baked french toast but was completely humbled by the delicious, nearly creme brulee-esque version at the Tower. So amazing. Truly worth the wait on a Sunday morning..

I am disappointed.
By ,
My parents came from the Bay Area for my birthday. I wanted to be outdoors, and heard about Tower Cafe. I made a bad decision. The menu was dreadful. We arrived at 2pm, and the choices were burgers or salad. We ordered differently. I hated my burger, my dad hated his burger, the fries were the worst I have had in recent memory. Cold, soggy, horrible...period. I left feeling empty, inside and out. We spent over 50.00 on food alone, no alcohol. Horrible. What a horrible birthday. Oh, the birds pooped on me.

Good breakfasts but come early!
By ,
My wife loves this place- especially Sunday mornings. My advice is to get there early on the weekends because the lines does get long quick. The food is so so to me but my wife loves it. The breakfast is not your typical Denny's or IHOP style breakfast nor do they want it to be. The ambience is good and it can get loud inside with everyone talking. The chairs are the cheap plastic ones and the tables are quite small. The prices aren't bad and this place seems to be quite the neighborhood hangout.

Must Try The Dessert Menu
By ,
Tower Café is an eclectic restaurant that serves delectable international eats. Their ever-changing creative dessert menu what keeps me coming back. The ambience puts you in a mind frame of sampling fascinating exotic decor from around the world. *First Date Tip: I recommend sitting outdoors in the summertime, the landscape provides beauty and privacy.
