Description

Mikuni Japanese Restaurant, located in the heart of midtown, has been a popular choice amongst Sacramento sushi connoisseurs for years. The restaurant's interior is cosmopolitan chic and the intricate sushi rolls are anything but standard. Some of the more-famous rolls include the Marilyn Monroll and the Train Wreck. There is also a cocktail bar within the restaurant and flat-screen TVs adorning some of the walls. Check the website for complete lunch and dinner menus.

Excellent food and staff... Mikuni is really loud and packed .. tables are close to each other and makes for little room.. if there is young people with us this is a great place to go.. kids seem to like loud places.. if I am trying to impress friends and associates I will go elsewhere..

This is one of my all time favorite Japanese places ... anywhere! Very popular with several sets of local friends. It's always busy when I go. Their rolls rock!

We had platters to go for Christmas Eve, the best idea we have had in a long time. The assorted sashimi platter we had was fresh with all of our favorites plus some little treats like calimari. The sushi platter was a great assortment of rolls and the spicy tuna was exceptional. A great meal, no fuss to prepare and easy to clean up so we could enjoy the rest of a very special night!

We had dinner at Mikuni Friday night and sat at the Sushi Bar. Emeril was our chef and he did an excellent job. I let him know that I was alergic to shellfish and he substituted the shellfish in some of Mikuni's best rolls to give us a custom dining experience. We fihished up with Blue Fin Toro (O Toro) and Emeril rubied it with garlic and topped it with green onion. We'd never had it that way -- fantastic! As usual, fish was totally fresh!

Mikuni is consistently rated locally as having the freshest ingredients. I'd agree of course as a frequent diner. The quality, ambiance and affordability compared to any other sushi restaurant in town is unparalleled. If you have a choice for sushi make it Mikuni and the family of eateries.

Mikuni is a great restaurant and has found a much needed niche in the Greater Sacramento Area. As a consumer, I am very excited to take my family there when they come in from out of town. It really is a great place to enjoy the entertainment and people while getting to experience their perspective on food.Mike
