The food here was okay. Although you don't really need to go here to get the food that you can get for a cheaper price, the restaurant is worth going to just to say that you have been there. The decorations are a little on the creepy, Halloween-y side, other than that, a fine place to dine.
I celebrated my 36th Birthday here last week. It was a wonderful experience. I had the filet & my husband had the venison... both dinners were perfectly created. The salad was also perfect.
We started with the oysters.. I would skip these next time. The sauce was just ok (too much vinegar) & one was sooooo tiny it should not have surfaced the plate! Not a good value.
Food was pretty decent. The Delmonico was a real treat for me and my friends. I agree with some other comments that the decor is really strange, tacky in my opinion. Our waiter was great, funny, and was able to tell us about the history of the restaurant. I wish I could remember his name, young guy, spiked up hair, young, and cute :). The rest of the staff was really nice too, the wine guy that worked there also gave us a tour of the cellar downstairs.
My family and I went to the Firehouse Restaurant yesterday for Mother's Day. I have NEVER written a review before but thought about our experience at this restaurant and couldn't shake the shock of how horribly expensive and awful it was; that I had to share this with others so you wouldn't experience what we did. $44.95 per plate didn't include drinks. Our food came out in about 6 or 7 minutes. (6 people) Our food was pre-cooked. The meat had the oddest texture inside; almost like spongy pudding. The staff wax NOT friendly and it was just a really expensive, horrible experience. I still am shocked! For that much money you would think drinks were included! Not even champange for Mother's Day! The little snacks before the brunch (if you can call it that) were Locks, Cheese, Bagels! (who eats that????). The best thing there was they had shrimp and fruit. I am so upset by how expensive and awful the food was that I thank god my family was wonderful and the day was wonderful for me because of them! Don't go to the Firehouse Restaurant!!!!! I never will again.
