This restaurant is by far the best Mexican restaurant is Roseville. The Chile Colorado and Chile Verde are excellent. An order of chicken or steak nachos can easily feed 2-3 people. This restaurant is consistently one of the best. The salsa is good and HOT, but I wish they had more pico de gallo available. Sundays are very busy. Go early or order take out at least a half hour before you arrive.
This is by far the best Mexican food in Roseville. El Azteca once occupied a single strip mall store but on Friday and Saturday nights the line was always out the door. (But you never had to wait an hour with a buzzer in your hand to get a table like the other common eating spots in West Roseville.)
The taqueria now occupies two store fronts and has upgraded to Spanish style flooring and decorations. The food is still great and is second only to grandma's. The line is still out the door on most weekend (and week) nights but wait a few minutes and you'll enjoy a good meal (that doesn't lighten the wallet too much). The prices are perfect for the amount of chips, salsa, and food.
Definitely a place to try once. Guaranteed you'll go back!
