just great food in a lovely decor with great people serving at a reasonable price... I would drive up there just to go to this place again and probably will do just that... a rare treat...

Have eaten here several times always for lunch and always had a nice experience. This past week had some east coast friends with me and they both said the New England clam chowder was the best they ever ate. Kudos from a hard to please couple.

This place is fun for Karaoke on Friday nights and they have good food during the lunch and dinner. I love the old fashioned bathroom at this restaurant because they have this 1900's feel (you have to see it!)

We stopped in Sutter Creek on the way back from Thanksgiving vacation, and... attempted to eat at the Sutter Creek Palace. We were seated promptly, but it took several minutes for the waitress to recognize us as customers, then after we ordered - it was 45 minutes before our 4 sandwiches were ready. She explained they had lost our order, and, after watching several other patrons get served who had arrived after ourselves, we were going to walk out - I wish we had... they not only got our orders wrong, but there was very little apology - and we were ignored by the waitress afterwards. The kicker: the sandwiches were mediocre, and my BLT had very little bacon on it - it was like they'd used bacon bits out of a bottle. For a very long wait, and a poorly served meal, I highly recommend McDonalds - the food's better, and you get it 1200 times faster.

My wife and I come up to Jackson/Sutter Creek once a month and have been looking for really good restaurants. We tried Sutter Creek Palace a few years ago and were disappointed but read recently that they had a new chef and decided to give it another try. We were not disappointed, in fact we went back again the next night, and we are not easy to please. The decor is comfortable but very nice, service is warm and friendly and the prices are very reasonable for what you get. They offer a fancy menu as well as a more traditional diner-style menu depending on your mood or you can mix and match. Over the two evenings we tried the giant scallops that were grilled to perfection the spinach and mixed green salads (generous and very nice) the stuffed portabello (we ordered it twice) and the prime rib. All done very well. We will definitely go there again in the future and recommend it to anyone looking for a nice evening out.
