Cafe Delicias, Rocklin

It s hard to describe the Mexican food at any Cafe Delicias. It s bland. Boring. No flavor. To start with, the chips they bring to the table can t even be described as tortilla chips. The better Mexican places make the chips. Cafe Delicias must get some good deal on bags of the worst tortilla chips ever made. The salsa is obviously canned. After eating a few, I just pushed the basked of chips and horrible salsa away. Ordered a Chicken Chimi with beans and rice. Who knows how old the beans and rice were, in fact they tasted Microwaved. The chicken in the chimichanga was un-seasoned and the only thing in a a flour tortilla that was barely fried was moist at best. The entire plate of food was bland, boring and had not taste. This is not Authentic Mexican food. My theory is, the buy cheap food in bulk, distirbute it all the Cafe Delicias and then is just re-heated. Beans are not freshely made. Rice tastes old and their meats are obviously made in advance, possible days or weeks in advance and then just re-heated when needed. I given Cafe Delicias three tries and they are out. I can t even call it disgusting food as it s tasteless bland food. The Chimi, the rice and the beans all tasted exactly the same, which was flavorless and like cardboard. I tried putting some of their provided salsa on everything, but as that is the worst salsa I ve ever had, it just made things worse. I pushed my plate away and couldn t wait to leave. Will never go to a Cafe Delicias again. I ve been to two different branches and the food is exactly the same and thats where I get my theory the owner is just buying bad canned food at a cheap prices, distributing it to their restaurants, re-heating it and serving it. Even their hot sauce, isn t in a bottle, it s on the table in a squeeze tube with no label and tastes like water with a ketchup and some hot pepper seeds in it. Cafe Delicias is horrible Mexican food.
