This is a really great place to have sushi. Basically any type of sushi you want, as long as it's on the menu. Just ask the chef and he'll make it for you on the spot. The little sushi boats also gives you the feel of wanting to try new things. If you see something yummy, go ahead and grab it! The service is very organized. It's just the long wait that's bad, so get there about an hour and a half early to get the seat at the bar where the boats are at, or else you'll be at the table. The price is very reasonable too, it's worth the drive just to have sushi.
I highly suggest getting there before 11:30 because the line can get crazy, but it's worth the wait. The food is awesome and a lot more exotic than any other sushi buffet I've ever gone to for such a low price.
The Best sushi buffet I have ever been too. The price and quality to me beats out the infamous Todai, and any other sushi buffet I have ever been too. Literally you cannot beat their set lunch buffet prices!!! $10 ?? C'mon!! You can order whatever you want and it will automatically cover the $10 charge. This Sushi Buffet is pretty much the only reason I go to Davis, besides visiting my U.C. Davis friends for thier annual PCN. : P
Items you have to try at Fuji's:
* Philidelphia Roll
* Rainbow Roll
* Tuna (Maguro) Sashimi
* Salmon (Sake) Sashimi
* Tuna Handroll
* Salmon Handroll
* Alaskin Handroll
* Tekka Maki
* Unagi (eel)
This place is a good deal if you go at lunch time, the Sushi Boat Buffet only costs about $10. The moving boat buffet was something new to me, so I was greatly amused by it. Most of the sushi is the commercial, California roll type, but that is the kind I love! If there isn't something on the boats that you want, you can order it as part of your meal. The wait to get in always looks intimidating, but it moves fairly quickly. I would say this is the place to go for inexperienced sushi eaters such as myself.
