I love this place, the staff is the best, the food is the best, and a really good waiter will give you ideas on what to create or what to try based off your likes and dislikes.
Best sushi in town
I miss the bartender though!
Went to Mikuni in Roseville last night and had a wonderful meal. We just moved to the area a year ago and are still searching for good restaurants and this met our expectations and more. We felt lost when Sushi Heaven closed but Mikuni's is better by far for both food and atmosphere.
If you go to this Mikuni's be prepared to have a great time and great food. I have never been to the other one's but if they're as good as this one it's well worth the money you spend!! the service is great and it's a great place to hang out with friends and family.
If you bring your 75-year-old mother here for her birthday with a party of 8 and spend $175, note that Mikuni's will ask her for her ID to spin the birthday wheel. Yes, even if she has a cane and will wobble about while looking in her purse for her ID. Oh, and expect to be seated half an hour after the time you made the reservation for, even when the restaurant is not crowded.
The service is horrible and disrespectful here.
Service is good, the food is good, the prices are really way to high. I eat a lot of sushi, and for a cheaper price you can eat at Midori in Fair Oaks and get WAY BETTER food. And 5 star service. Mikuni is not as good as it used to be, and is at best over-rated. I still would eat there - if Midori was closed.
Great sushi.. the Dream Sauces are amazing. SO GOOD. I like the Fair Oaks location FAR better than roseville. Everytime I go to Roseville I have nothing but problems with my order and service sucks. SO I stick to Fair Oaks. Chefs are very friendly and service is always sweet. Overall very good though
If you want to eat at a trendy restaurant; if you want a party atmosphere; if you love really, really loud and noisy restaurants, then Mikuni is your place. If you want a quiet dinner where you can actually talk to your companions, then this is NOT the spot.
The sushi is very fresh and good. Everything else is average. There are several much better small Japanese restaurants in the area. Personally, I found the noise deafening and the food just so-so. I won't be back.
The food-ambiance-and service are all on a level I haven't seen matched at another sushi restaurant to date--although trendy and a little pricey well worth the atticipation & excitement I have just before enjoying this fabulous delight!
