Combining a Jewish ethnic tradition with the customs and tastes of Mexico, this place offers ten types of bagels and a variety of specialty baked goods and breads, including Challah, a braided Jewish egg bread, and Pan Dulce, a Mexican sweet bread with a savory sugar crunch topping. The menu also features an extensive range of baked goods, sandwiches, soups, salads, and sweet treats.
The bagels are okay but if you started eating bagels on the East Coast, by comparison these are only okay, but they are definitely the best in Humboldt County. Also, if you're accustomed to the quick service and can do attitude of the Arcata Los Bagles, you're in for a surprise at the Eureka Los Bagles. The service in Eureka is slow even when there is no line. Two times in a row in Eureka, I have been served coffee that was not hot. The last time I had to wait for approximately 15 minutes for them to brew the next pot. Their priority was to serve the waiting customers and apparently multi-tasking was not an option. Most recently they decided they would warm it in the microwave. I told them that I did not come to get a fresh cup of coffee that had been nuked. Whatever you do don't get a scramble, they are a disappointment and grossly overpriced.
Best bagels within 100 of miles, seriously. They are kind of expensive for a bagel with toppings, but oh so good! I think it is a great value. The atmosphre is artsy and casual, with soft (not elevator)upbeat music playing in the background.
I love this place. unfortuneatly they are closed on tuesdays, and it alwasy seems that on tuesdays is when i want to go. My fravorite things to get are sesame bagel with creamcheese and tomatoes or a plain bagel with cream cheese pesto. buy their cookbook and you can have the cream cheese pesto recipe, along with other classics like their jalepeno bagels, to make whenever you want. I know the cream cheese pesto recipe gets used a lot at my house, and for all events that i make things for.
This bagel shop combines the best of the owner's Mexican and Jewish heritage. Where else can you get a delicious bagel with a cup of Mexican hot chocolate? I've lived in Arcata my whole life, and I love going to Los Bagels. It's truly a great local bagel place with a cool community ambiance.
I live in San Francisco but I'm always happy when my travels take me to Eureka - and much of that joy can be found at this wonderful breakfast spot. Their toasty onion bagels will leave your breath feeling fresh for three days!
