An institution in my Citrus Heights neighborhood for decades, Leatherby's is absolutely THE place to go for a family celebration, a fun lunch, or any occasion. The sandwiches are great, but your eyes will pop when you see those enough-for-4 sundaes. Also excellent for take-away desserts like pies, which are delicious. We get the banana cream for parties, and you can't beat the convenience and quality.
I have noticed several unpleasant posts by people who don't appear to have actually visited Leatherby's. Well, we all know how the left congratulate themselves on their extraordinary TOLERANCE for others' views, and as you can see by their posts here, their peaceful, reasonable, fair and calm debate is a byword. Right.
Between the company AND it's proprietors' personal donations, $19,600 were spent to support the Hateful, Bigoted Proposition 8. This company has no desire for the gay community, or anyone of rational compassion who consider all human beings to be equal to utilize their services. If you pay this company your hard earned money, you are supporting a hate campaign.
One of the few wonderful family restaurants. Our kids loved going there when we lived in Sacramento. Whenever we are in the Sacramento area we try to give them our business. It is too bad that a business owner in the United States can not stand up for what they believe in. Maybe the people who oppose Prop. 8 need to look in a mirror to see who is spewing hate.
Wow--such venom. So....tolerance is only for those who agree with your viewpoint?? Hmmm...
As for Leatherby's, it's simply the best ice cream in town! Our family's favorite place for a great sundae, with fudge dripping everywhere. The service is always good, too. Try the toasted almond!!
They donated to support Yes on H8.
Obviously they don't need any more money from tolerant and fair-minded individuals. Let them continue to solicit and collect their hate soaked dollars from any bigot who chooses to be their client, employee, contractor, vendor, or a member of their church.
As for everyone else, it is highly recommended for you to look elsewhere; find yourself tolerant individuals to serve your dining and dessert needs. Do you really want a service so personal to be provided by the same hands that also flip the proverbial middle finger towards fair treatment, equality and civil rights of others? Just the sheer thought of them touching your food is revolting and creepy. I would not be surprised if they spit in your food or do other disgusting stuff.
Why support bigots? There are hundreds of awesome establishments in the Sacramento City and Sacramento County, Roseville City and Placer County. This lone restaurant is not your only option. Even if the distance was an issue for you, within a five-mile radius from this location you have several dozen eateries offering similar services and accepting similar payment.
They made their choice count, stand up and make yours count too.
Bigotry Then… Equality Now
Leatherby's is a family tradition for me... If you have never been here you have to at least try it once! I always get one of their specials that they have - soda, sandwich and a small sunday... they have a very big menu and other specials to choose from. They have the best ice cream!!!!!
