Bistro Gardens, Crescent City

Ate there while on a road trip to the Redwoods in early Oct 2006. I had the Blue Cheese Filet Mignon and my friend had the Cajun Shrimp and Filet Mignon. Some of the best steak we have both ever had. If you are in or around Crescent City I would highly reccomend this place.

Since their recent move down in the harbor Bistro Gardens has become the place for lunch and dinner. Their chef Jim is amazing, he makes everything wonderful. Dan has a wonderful staff with great customer service. In it's new location the view is breathe taking. The menu has not changed much from it's original but Jim is a clever cook which makes everything to your likeing. Whether you are from out of town or a local who just hasn't made it there I suggest the Blue Cheese Filet Minion or the Chicken Dijon their Black bean soup is heavenly and to end the meal Jimmi's Flambe- Their prices are a little on the high side, but well worth it. You get quality and the ambiance of an elegant city style restaurant.

We ate at Bistro Gardens on a Monday evening. I had the filet mignon steak and my husband had the black bean soup and the ceasar salad. It was a terrible meal. I don't know if the regular chef was not there or what but my suggestion is that they get rid of the fellow who was doing the cooking. Although I don't know how they could improve the salad which was iceberg lettuce with a dressing. Needless to say we won't be returning though we do eat out frequently.

Cute little place in Crescent City Harbor, if you get a chance check out the sea lions. I had the Cheddar Glazed Tenderloin Steak and Shrimp Scampi, absolutely loved it. Kind of pricey, but was definitely worth it!

We tried Bistro Gardens for the first time the last time we were in Crescent City and it is by far the best restaurant in Crescent City. Our family spends a couple of weeks in Crescent City every summer and we're looking forward to dining there again. Great food, atmosphere, view, and service.

I would say that without a doubt, I have never had a better steak in my life! The portions were huge, and the meat quality was exceptional. You cannot cook a meal yourself of comparable quality for less then this! At $25, I would consider it to be a bargin considering the portions, the quality of the foods used, and the talents of the chef who prepared this fine meal. The ambiance was simply icing on the cake. We dined outside at a table overlooking the ocean. It was a marvelous evening. Oh, I definitely reccomend ordering desert. No matter what your choice, you cannot go wrong! Oh so delectible! Yum!
