The wine menu is more than ample to satify even the most particular of tastes (foreign and of course the best of California) and the service is exceptionally attentive.

The Hotel Ivanhoe was an earth shaking experiance.for us. We arrived on Frid 8/9 and was greeted by one of the two owners Dave the hubby, who was very friendly & gave us the run down of the hotel. The room we had was decorated very victorian cozy, we loved it immediately. I was like a kid in a candy store. The hotel itself is absolutely awesome, Barb the wife, greeted us the next morning and gave us a little more history about the hotel & Restaurant & Bar..Later that day Ferndale was hit with a 6.5 earthquake, there was a lot of broken glass & the town was a mess. The Ivanoe shook & rattled like crazy, although there was not alot of devestating damage there was bottles & broken items everywhere and the beautifuel grandfather clock that Dave had restored was destroyed.. During this whole chaotic time Dave & Barb handled themselves so calmly & with such dignity that i justed wanted to cry for them...It was very overwhelming to every one & my heart & prayers go out to them & the wonderful town of Ferndale. We never did make our 6:00 dinner resv..but we will be back to make good on that dinner and we will defintely will stay at Dave & Barbs Hotel Ivanhoe again & again..Keep the light on in room #1 were coming back
