The secret of Headlands is the generosity and friendliness of the staff, manifested in every aspect of the cafe. The food and drink are fresh and delicious. The cordial climate welcomes everybody ac" local business people, tourists, teens, little kids, seniors, artists, writers and musicians, and all the extraordinary "ordinary people" who live on the Mendocino Coast. The patrons generate a vibrant bustle, yet the pace is relaxed and unhurried. If you take a couple hours to drink your cup of coffee, nobody will even notice
WOW! Headlands is a MUST when you visit Fort Bragg! We loved it so much we went 3 days in a row on our trip! Their NY Cheesecake is to die for!!! Im not even kidding! Freakin delicious! Their sandwiches are also yummy.....and white chocolate mocha! Yummy! Im getting hungry just thinking about it!
The Headlands has gone down in quality since the new ownership. Chai tea used to be fantastic now it is awful, when I asked Juan one of the owners why, he said that the guy who made it left town, so? Why can't he take the time to get the recipe??? Miss the first owners, they were better with the customers, Mary and Pete we miss you. Jazz lovers thsi is the only venue that continually has the local jazz people, when you live in FB it gets old quick but for visitors it is the place for live music (and sometimes very amatuerish local so called musicans or hacks.
Fun place to meet and mix with people you know and to meet people you want to be friends with. It's a mix of young & old and has some good local talented artists from time to time. Coffee and rolls are great......
This is the most awesome place to just sit and hang out drinking a cup of hot coffee and eating some natural food! The coffee house is very thin and long and has some sort of live music playing every day from a single guitar to a 3-piece jazz band....fabulous......read a paper or just sit and sip. Outside there are usually purple-haired locals dressed in all black but that just makes it more interesting...I go there many times when I am in Ft. Bragg....one of these days I hope to hang out there with a special guy I might meet one day.
