We were told about this little place by some friends and now we go every time we are in Fort Bragg. We love it. It's the kind of place where the owner will come and carry around your fussy toddler so you can eat. Once my four year old was upset about something and they brought her a free quesadilla to cheer her up, thinking it was the food she was unhappy about. Be warned, it's a small place, so get there early.
The service is quaint, the atmosphere is very homey and the food is wonderful.
My husband and I recently were there on vacation and came across Taqueria Ricarda's when we were searching for a place for dinner.
It was a very small restaurant...nothing fancy, but we were so impressed with the food. My husband ordered the carnitas, and I ordered the super burrito with special sauce. Let me tell you, it was the best burrito I ever ate. My husband said the carnitas were fantastic.
We may just have to travel to Ft. Bragg again soon, if only to eat there again!
I have lived in Fort Bragg my entire life, but i have traveled to Mexico a few times, the food and service at Taqueria Ricarda's is so wonderful. It is really the only Mexican restaurant in FB with the friendly and satisfying service, Ricarda and her family are so welcoming and nice, after just one meal at the restaurant you will want to come back for more, and the wonderful thing is, Ricarda will remember you, and probably exactly what sauce you want on your enchiladas...this restaurant is the best.
Some of the finest Mexican food I've eaten anywhere, including NYC. If you request mild you will get mild, if you request no celantro, you get no celantro. Homemade tamales to die for, everything is homemade. Great selection of chicken, pork and beef entres. Wonderful homemade flan. My husband has a hugh appitite and has a problem finishing their dinners. We have ordered their tamales for parties and they always provide us with the steamers to cook them in at home (at no extra charge). It is a family run business and everyone is treats you like family. It is also one of the cleanest restaurants I've ever been in.
