It is hard not to notice the Mayan paintings and petite wooden tables. The Yucatan menu with European and Caribbean influences is sometimes spicy but can be modified to suit your taste. Prawns Diablo, rib eye steak and Maya carnitas are interesting entree choices. Lime tortilla soup and Maya house salad are innovative culinary treats. Margaritas can be sipped at the Temple of Tequila which is an aptly named bar. Maya memorabilia is also available at the restaurant.
My husband and I had a late Saturday lunch at the Maya Restaurant.
We were totally satisfied with our lunch experience.
The waiter was friendly and helpful.
Our lunch was presented in away that was pleasing to the eye.
The beans were smooth and creamy...differant from what I'm used to, but very good. The rice was very tasty and my enchilada was the best I've had....the sauce was very interesting and quite good. Everything was delicious! We will definitely come again on our next trip to Sonoma.
A good restaurant if you are into a flashy experience. The food can best be categorized as Sonoma chic Mexican. I have traveled in Mexico extensively and have not found typical Mexican food comparable to what Maya serves.
this was so good , I can't wait to go back . The food was fresh and healthy with amazing flavor not like other typical mexican resturants ! Service was excellant and ambiance beautiful ! Marguerita was made to perfection !
This is one of my faves in Sonoma. Great, rustic interior with some original brick walls, high ceilings, mayan decor and arts and crafts. Authentic cuisine with lots of variety. Thick, real tortilla chips. Fantastic daiquiris and margaritas with a different agua fresca each day.
