Sizzling Tandoor, Jenner

This restaurant has a completely undeserved bad rap. I stayed away due to all of the bad reviews. Finally broke down and gave them a try. Now I wish I didn't wait so long before trying it myself. First night we ordered take out (much larger portions than when you stay and eat there)- the food was so good, we came back a couple of nights later with some friends (who enjoyed it as well!). We ordered a bunch of different dishes, and we weren't disappointed in a single one of them. We will definitely be going back!

I am a local and just had an extremely lovely dinner here with some friends. Contrary to some of the earlier reviews, the establishment was clean and nicely decorated More important though the food was delicious. The Chicken Saag was delightful and the Lamb Vindaloo was even better. Everyone who worked there, though serious, had a smile for me as well when I smiled at them.. It is nice to have a different kind of cuisine available nearby. I will continue to go there and bring others as well. Don't less one person's subjective point of view keep you from giving it a try at least.

This is the worst place i've ever been, the staff is all family and very disrespectful the young teens haven't any manners and smell of bad body oder. the restaurant itself is filthy. I have taken my family there on 3 different occasions and each time we have seen customers get up and walk out. I guess that should have given me A clue , however we live locally and thought we would give them the bennifit of the doubt. Now I know this place should be closed down. I've made calls to the health dept. but they have responded by saying that they have gone out and instructed them in proper food storage [strange]. Everone who lives in this area agrees this place is terrible and must close. It is a disgrace. The health food permit is in the name of a minor also. that has never been looked into but has been reported.

Lovely restaurant . I love that it is a family business . Can't beat the site !. The food is great especially the chicken tandoori . Some say the service is a bit slow , but what is the rush when you admire through the window one of the most beautiful sites in the world ??? Have one more beer and chill out ... We go there very regularly from Sebastopol . And it is affordable ! what a rare treat in Northern California .

Been there a few times. Gorgeous view of the the river winding into the ocean if you sit in the patio of the restaurant. As far as the restaurant goes, the food is pretty decent - It's north indian food. It's is quite tasty, but spicy, as most indian food is. However, the service is lousy - no different from how 90% of indian restaurants in India operate and 80% of most restaurant in the world operate! If you have been to Inida on the countryside, this is closest thing to a 'dhaba'. What works for us now is to go there for 'take-out' food and then go to the nearby (awesome) beach where russian river meets the ocean and numerous seals hang out and eat on the beach - That way we get nice food, nice view, nice company and avoid lousy service!

We have been visiting this restaurant ever since 1998 on our road trips through Sonoma. It was always a pleasant experience, with a gorgeous view, good Indian food, and friendly service. Sadly, this place has gone from excellent to terrible. When we arrived at 11:45, one server immediately told us that they were closed, which translated to go away, even though the restaurant listed their opening time as 11:30. However, the cook came out and told us to come and wait for the kitchen to get ready. Though we waited for 45 minutes, we didn't complain that much as the view was breathtaking and the temperature outside on the patio deck was just right. When the food arrived, they only brought half the order and informed us that the other half was not available. The curries were unappetitizing, the rotis were oily and undercooked, and the rice pudding tasted like it made 2 months ago, kept frozen in the fridge, waiting to be thaw when some fool actually order it. Our two thalis were not enough to keep us full, but that is understandable as we were 4 people. But when we tried to order more food, we were scared. We did not know when it would arrive. The waitress was stone-faced and unfriendly. Finally after 2 hours of this torture, we decided to leave. That meal left us very dissatisfied, and broke our trust in that restaurant. They have lost a faithful customer. So unless you enjoy eating in restaurants with stale food, and servers that would rather watch tv than help you, DO NOT GO THERE!!!!!

Incredibly delicious Indian food with a view of the ocean! As good as places we've eaten at in San Francisco & the East Bay. The lunch specials are an excellent value -- for about $8-10, you get a bowl of soup, naan, rice, & an entree. Their mulligatawny soup has subtle, layered flavors & spices & a nice texture. The veggie pakoras are perfect -- a delicate, crunchy batter encloses steamed veggies which melt in your mouth. Their curry sauces are velvety & flavorful, the rice is moist but not too sticky, & the tandoori chicken & biryani chicken are perfectly prepared. The owners are friendly & there's outdoor seating available on the patio when weather permits. After you've stuffed yourself, stop by Goat Rock Beach for a nice walk.

We go to Sizzling Tandoor regularly and always have great food and friendly service. In an area with few food choices, Sizzling Tandoor is an oasis of flavor.
