Albion River Inn, Albion

Upon high recommendations, the Bed & Breadfast in Mendocino that we were staying at for our 35th Wedding Anniversary made reservations for our special dinner. As suggested, to maximize our chances for a nice table, we arrived at 5:30. The hostess seated us at the smallest table in direct summer sunlight. When we asked to be moved, she stated that the remaining tables would be exposed to that much sunlight soon and that moving would make no difference. As we had never dined here before, we trusted her judgement. Our table was not out of direct sun for 1 hour and 15 minutes and the remaining tables never had as much summer sun. The hostess also failed to advise our server of the special occasion. While the food was very good and our waitress, when advised of the situation, made an extra effort to provide exceptional service - the evening was still overshadowed by the poor service of the hostess. If you choose to celebrate a special occasion at this restaurant, our suggestion is to deal directly with management staff and not trust service levels to a hostess with sub-standard customer service skills.

The Albion is our favorite place to go. It moved us so much that we have chosen to make that area our place to retire. ..in the meantime, we try to visit at least twice per year. Doug, is like family. He always goes out of his way to make sure our stay is perfect. He never forgets us, The scenary, the peacefulness and the ocean makes it pure heaven. This is our heaven.

i love Doug, the best innkeeper on the coast. he deserves a Big Raise owners of this inn please take note. Nice young man server/busser at dinner for us, I think his name is Mat?Food is good, some is very good, the portions are very small but the views are why you stay. Location, location. location. The owners hang out often in the restuarant. Both are real characters. Stay here for romance galore.

Have been here many times and the experience is always outstanding. Of course outstanding as this facility is, what truly sets it apart is the location. The Inn is located right on the cliffs overlooking the bay/ocean. Views here are spectacular, with each room furnished with binoculars to appreciate it all the more. The rooms themselves are attractively docorated, with comfortable chairs and couch. Amenities include refrigerator, in-room coffee/tea service, morning paper, half bottle of local chardonnay and chocolates upon arrival. The Inn even has its own cat who will happily stop to keep you company in the evening should you be so wise/unwise to leave the screen door open. Most rooms have a very nice deck area in the the back to enjoy the view with your morning coffee or afternoon wine. Breakfast in the morning is invariably outstanding, enjoyed in the excellent Albion Inn restaurant just next door. A gorgeous location and well worth the fairly high price tag (returning guests receive a 30% discount Sunday through Thursday during the off season). Cannot recommend this place highly enough. California and Medocino at its absolute best!

The ocean view from the decks of the rooms were unbelievable! The room itself had a cozy cottage feel and was decorated quite nicely. The room rate comes with a full cook-to-order breakfast in the restaurant. And the restaurant (also with a spectacular view) served me one of the best dinners I have ever had! I can't wait to go back!

My niece was married in an outdoor ceremony just outside the restaurant, overlooking the cove here. With the dramatic cliffs and lovely span of bridge as backdrops, along with the lushly planted gardens in the foreground, hers are some of the most beautiful wedding photos we've seen. The wind can be a detriment and the fog rolls in quickly, but on my niece's day the weather cooperated magnificently.

This beautiful inn has a view of the coast that is spectacular. Don't miss the breakfast at their five star restaurant. The service was great everywhere at this hotel. The grounds on this property were lovely.

From the view to the luxurious spa tub rooms to the exquisite food in the ocean front dining room...nothing beats it! THE most romantic setting in the world! Perfect for a anniversary celebration!

My husband and I have been going to the Albion River Inn for the past few years, each time our stay has been exceptional! It starts with check in (Doug) who treats us like royalty, he always remembers our names, then we move on to our cottage, which is so tastfully furnished (I won't tell you which one!) Each day we plan a hike, walk or drive, to not have a tv in our room makes our stay that much more romantic; the breakfast is nothing less than a feast as is the dinner each evening, and the staff is fabulous! I can't tell you how much we look forward to our stay, year after year after year. I would recommend booking in advance.

Sublime location, romantic, tranquil and just delightful. Select one of the many suites and rooms. Most come with a balcony, fireplace and whirlpool tub. Perfect for honeymoons, anniversaries or any special occassion. Location is beautiful near the cliffs edge and bridge. They take extra special care of you and love repeat guests. Mention your special event you get wine and gifts each night. Breakfast daily in the resturant, make sure to get dinner here too, the view is unsurpassed.
