Egghead's Restaurant, Fort Bragg

THE BEST PLACE TO EAT PERIOD... I don't care what anyone says or how long the wait is, Eggheads is part of the reason I visit fort bragg. I love it. GREAT COFFEE

I can't believe what happened at Eggheads today. My boyfriend ordered the Garlic Veggie Wizard (he is vegetarian) and they brought out the Garlic Wizard with bacon in it! that wasn't so bad, because we quickly realized the mistake and sent it back, no harm done. THEN at the end of his his breakfast he discovered bacon in the potatoes (by pulling it out of his mouth)! The owner happened to stop by our table just as we discovered this and just apologized. We received the bill with NO discount and when we asked for a discount they gave us $2.79 off, the cost of the extra pancake we ordered. I always used to love this place but apparently they have no respect for strict vegetarians. I'm not going back! I would rather eat at Café 1 and spend more money.

So what is the deal with Eggheads? I heard it either closed or has new management! I also heard all of the wait staff quit because of management. It must have be pretty bad because the staff has always been great. Someone let me know!!!! It always bee one of my favorite places to eat in Fort Bragg. It is worth the wait!

We have been going to Eggheads for 20+ years. It's our favorite breakfast place in Fort Bragg. The coffee is wonderful. Our favorite thing on the menu is the flying monkey potatoes with sauted vegies and hot pepper cheese on top. My husband adds eggs to his. They fix them exactly the way he likes. I like the Red Shoe Scramble which has chicken apple sausage, the potatoes and veggies and cheese. The restaurant is decorated in Wizard of Oz memorablia. The staff has always been friendly. You do have to wait when it's busy but it's worth it. The menu has lots of omelettes, waffles, and great versions of eggs benedict, as well as fabulous sandwiches and salads. We have a place in Little River and go to the coast three or four times a year and Eggheads is always on our places to eat list.

Our family comes to the Mendocino/Ft. Bragg area at least once of twice a year.For the last few years,it has been a much anticipated tradition to get breakfast at Eggheads our last morning(at least).It is definitely small and crowded,so if that is a problem ,Eggheads wouldn't be your cup of tea.However ,if you don't mind possibly waiting and being crammed in ,it is well worth it!The food has never disappointed us.I am a breakfast nut and am rarely disappointed,but my two,slightly picky kids,and discerning husband(who is not usually a breakfast eater at all) were just as happy.I took my parents there this year when I went to the coast with them for a wedding.They were just as pleased as we have always been.Everything we have ever had has been great.Everything from pancakes to omelettes and potatoes are excellent!Oh and the biscuits and gravy that my dad got were some of the best I've ever had!

This place came highly recommended by our hotel, but I was very disappointed. The inside of this place is way too small, and it gets crowded. The seating is extremely uncomfortable (wooden benches that are narrow and not padded). The waiters are friendly, but that doesn't quite makeup for being uncomfortable, or the food. I got a sandwhich, and it wasn't good. It was edible, but not tasty, and not worth the price. The only choice you have for sides is a small green salad or breakfast potatoes- no fries or fruit offered. I saw some of the breakfast food- eggs, bacon and such. It looked ok, but nothing better than what I could make at home. We were never offered refills on our drinks, and the place was full of teens and college-aged people who were loud and obnoxious. I will never go back!
