Dehaven Valley Inn, Westport

I loved it at DeHaven Valley Inn! I came to get away from it all, and that is exactly what happened. The peaceful sounds of the waves crashing on the beach made it seem as though there was nothing wrong with the world today. Leaving gave me mixed feelings, the hosts are so gracious that I wanted to move in, but I did need to get back to my daily grind. Thank You for providing me the sanctuary I needed. T.H.

Thank you for letting us know we need to be more mindful of our location. To us the remoteness is what makes it all the more special. There are plenty of beaches and cliffs and sunsets to keep you busy all day. Although we know it is not for everyone and that is alright too. We love the quietness of the Inn. Here you have peace and solitude from the crowds. If you wish to go to Fort Bragg to shop or join in an event it is only 17 miles away. The Inn does offer internet and we have some TVs in a few rooms. There is a TV in the main sitting room. All the rooms now have phones for your use. We don't get cell reception at the Inn which seems to be ok with some people, but just a short walk up the driveway and there is reception, plus you can talk on the phone and enjoy the sea view all at the same time.

The price paid was a bit much given the remote location of this B&B. It takes a great deal of travel time on Hwy 1 to reach, once here you find just how remote it truly is. Try 45 minutes to Ft. Bragg which is the nearest civilization. Additionally there are no forms of communication such as phone, internet, cell phone and tv. Though you can listen to the radio if you happened to bring one or listen in your car. Perhaps to some this seems wonderful, however the owners truly should stress how remote they are before one makes a reservation.
