Flamingo Resort Hotel
Just one hour north of San Francisco's Golden Gate Bridge, nestled in the heart of the beautiful Sonoma Wine Country, you will find the Flamingo Resort Hotel and Spa, the Wine Country's fun, unique resort destination. Their mission is to provide a friendly, relaxing, complete resort experience for business and pleasure at an outstanding value. Among the hotel s special features are its extensive conference facilities, a secluded garden area with a 25-meter heated swimming pool and the world-class Montecito Heights Health and Racquet Club and The Spa.
We stayed at the Flamingo twice in the past 18 months when visiting family in Santa Rosa. The room was comfortable and clean and a decent size. We ate at the restaurant several times. There was a good selection at the breakfast buffet, and the three dinners we ate there were delicious! Service in the restaurant was friendly and courteous.
What the Flamingo excells in is their great pool and fitness room. The fitness room is much more extensive than you normally find at a hotel. So no big backup lines at the treadmill!! The pool is large, heated, and has lap lanes which is a rarity in hotel pools. I enjoyed three early morning swims during my stay.
I would definitely stay here again next year when visiting family.
When we checked in the front desk person had an attitude. We go and look at the room to find that the door opens into the bed. The two beds in the room have saggy mattresses and the carpet has stains. You can barely squeeze into the bathroom. We go back to the front desk and asked the front desk person if they had a better room than that at the same price. Also, when we booked this hotel with them a week earlier we were told that it would have a refrigerator and microwave. It didn't. Then, she gets nasty with us. We couldn't get a refund from the first nights stay, so we finally get a suite that we had to pay more money for at $168.00 a night. Just to get a cleaner, better bed. The carpet still had stains and the furniture in that room was so bad that Goodwill won't take it. The restaurant smelled like bad body order, which we did not eat at. When we went to check out two days later, another front desk person tried to charge us more money for the room we were staying in ($189.00). My husband had to argue with him for 15 minutes about it in front of other people checking out. Other people who were checking out were also having the same problem with this person. For anyone thinking of staying in Santa Rosa, CA, DO NOT! The rest of the town doesn't have much better customer service either. Go to the town of Sonoma. Shops are nicer and restaurants are more friendly.
Like the spot, go to Santa Rosa twice a month to visit family and have checked out most of the area. Rooms big and clean, suites facing the pool very classy... in a bewitched sort of way (60'S CHIC) Lots of flagstone in design, big heated pool, Jacuzzi average but nice. Make sure you get room not facing Farmers Lane/4th st. Ask for facing pool average cost 129.00 Huge suites for 100 more. Santa Rosa is sorta rough, this is a gem.
I expected a lot more for the price. The rooms are outdated and are really motel-type in style. Very disappointing. The food and layout of the restaurant is good, which is why I did not rate this hotel any lower. Will not return.
The service at the disco lounge was incredibly poor, the waitress NEVER came to our table, she spent her time chatting with friends, then our keys could not open the entrance or side doors to go back into the building section we were staying in, the security guard that let us in said that one of the side entrance doors (emergency door) had not worked for over three months. We'll never stay at this place ever again, we will also make sure that all our friends and relativers find out about our bad experience with this stablishment.
