Applebee's, Sonora

Food was good- I don't mean to be patronizing, but this was the best meal I've had at one of the chains in a long time. I had the santa fe salad and i will be back. My waiter was great too attentive without being pushy.

I was served a salad with mud on the leaves that was visible to me and the server. The manager gave me some coupons to smooth over the incident. I gave them away because I will never go there again. I wonder if the other reviews were written by Applebee's employees.

My friend & I were visiting from the Sacramento area and took my Twain Harte resident uncle to lunch and a movie next door at the Regal Cinemas. I had a bruschetta burger and garlic fries, my friend a tri-tip sandwich with regular fries & my uncle a chicken breast sandwich with fries. My burger was very good and the garlic fries were GREAT! (of course, I'm a garlic lover). My friend wasn't too impressed with his sandwich, which included little chunks of meat that he said weren't very tender. My uncle said his sandwich was OK, nothing special. However, since it's my review and I very much enjoyed my burger & fries, I'm going to override their opinions and give the meal a fairly good rating! The initial service was friendly & fairly prompt. I liked the fact that the server didn't pop back every 30 seconds to ask how everything was, which seems to be the recent trend in trendy restaurants. However, she could have returned to refill the water glasses. The prices are reasonable and the ambiance is nice, including the iconographic American pop culture pictures and posters on the walls.

I eat here as often as I can. The food and service is excellent. They have a sports bar that can be loud at times. It is a fun place to eat at with a large menu full of wonderful choices.Their steaks, pasta and sandwichs are delicious. If you call in advance their takeout is fast an ready when you arrive. They even bring it to your car.

We have a huge choice of restaurants to go to in our area. Some of the best restaurants in the Mother Lode are here. We always choose Applebee's because the food is always great. The service is always friendly and we don't have to wait long to get a table. My husband and I eat out a lot because it just seems to be easier for our busy schedule. The cost of a really good dinner at Applebee's is the best around no matter what we order.
