Carino's Italian, Modesto

The staff is rude. The food less than average. When we were there the mall was busy and they spent more time yelling at people in the parking lot than taking care of their customers.

When Johnny Carino's first opened here in Modesto, I loved it. However, I have noticed that over the last couple of years, the food and service have declined severely, so much so that I will not be returning. The last time I was there was for my birthday dinner. I ordered the chicken marsala, and the chicken was tough and had a horrible flavor. The waitress would disappear for a long time and didn't really seem to know what she was doing. I had heard awhile back that this location was going to be closing, but somehow they seem to keep hanging on, I'm just not sure how they do it.

The closest to authentic Italian food you can get in the area. It's little expensive, but you get what you pay for and it gives better portions than most.

Worst service ever! We will never go back. The food was cold, the bread was stale and our waitress was nowhere to be found...When we did finally flag down the manager,she was just as incompetent as the waitress. A Really bad experience. All that for $40.00!

The food is sub par. Save your money or go to Olive Garden for Italian food. The spaghetti taste like chef boy r dee, the seafood fettuccine is bland and the lasagna is just ok.

HORRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE!!!! I have been here 2 times and both times I have had HORRIBLE experiences. The staff is rude and doesn’t bother to check on the guests. The environment is horrible. Lots of clanking dishes from the dishwasher and cheesy Italian music. Food is OVERPRICED and the ambience sucks. When I asked to place my order as the waitress zipped by, she said “OK” and kept on walking and didn't return until 15 minutes later. Once I finally placed my order, it was 40 minutes until I got my meal. Once we finally did get our meals I never saw the waitress again. I even had to I had to get up and get my own box from the shelf to box my food… For the same price you can get a much nicer meal and a much nicer experience at a restaurant like Olive Garden and have outstanding service.

The food was always decent, but way overpriced. The last time we went in we had terrible service. My husband asked to speak to a manager, he explained the situation to the manager and the manager told him he needed to work it out with the waitress. We will never go back, not only because of service, but because there is way better food for these kinds of prices.

very good foThey serve Italian meals your choice of steak, chicken, pork, beef whatever it is they have good cooks. and with a bar drink everythings tastes even better.
