Travelling from The Netherlands we stayed at a closeby B&B. This Cafe, right next to the Shell, is the right choice to have a great-value-meal. Staff is very friendly. Try anything homemade. Beware, the place is only open till 8PM, so be on time.
I'm from out of state and from the reviews decided to try this place. The atmosphere is great and the food was fantastic (breakfast). Good value. Service was so-so, I wasn't in a hurry so it wasn't an issue, plus the food and atmosphere made up for that. When I come back to this area, I will definitely visit again!! High recommend!!
This owner-operated cafe has great food and service. We especially like the breakfasts. The food is always hot and tasty. I particularly like the bacon. It's not that wimpy thin bacon you get some places, but thick and meaty. Plus, they generally give you four large pieces. The coffee is great also. Although we have never tried their full dinners, we do have their hamburgers for lunch or dinner and they are very good.Great service, great service and reasonable prices.
Since Pete and Ema took over Pop's Cafe it has been great! My hubby, daughter and I eat here at least once a week and we are never disappointed! The service is always with a smile. The food is always tasty and well presented. The menu choices are diverse. The Chicken gyro is wonderful and the Hushpuppies are a favorite of ours. Pete's soups are always homemade and never overly spiced. We take our out of town visitors here as a treat to good ol' mountain food. It's an all around great family restaurant!
Best place to eat. Biscuits and gravy the best in the state, Steak sandwich and Chicken breast sandwich very good and portions large, best Fsh and chips in the West. The gyro even better than that which you get in Greece. Best burgers also. All ingredients are freshly prepared. Excellent value, very clean. All the staff are friendly and really extend themselves to provide you with terriffic service. Menu has a wide variety.
New owners took over Pop's in 2008. The old place was getting a little tired. The new owners completely rebuilt the kitchen, repainted and cleaned. It now looks great and shows the pride only a restaurant managed by the owners can. The food is reasonably priced and very good. The daily specials are recommended. The owners are always on hand. The atmosphere is warm and friendly. I recommend it as the best place for a friendly meal in the Mariposa area. It's on Hwy 49 about half way between Mariposa and Oakhurst.
