Xochimilco Cafe, Stockton

I have been eating at Xochimilco Cafe for years, and the last three times i went back i seen roaches i went back that many times hoping that they would do something about the problem as was stated to me from one of the employees, I even got dinner on the house twice because of what i seen (Roaches) I Don't plan on going back there. they need to relocate or remodel the whole place. Aw though the food they give you portion wise is good and good price wise it is not worth coming across a roach in your food. If anyone eat there you better pray before you chomp down.

I absolutely LOVED this place, I probably been going for about 8 years. I enjoyed the large amounts of tasty food and there salsa. I also liked that it was family owned and family worked there together. It was until one day my husband, 8 year old daughter and I were sitting at a booth waiting to be served when a small roach crawled on the back of the cushion right next to my daughters hair. Well that was the last time we ate there. They are so nice and food was always good in the past that I didn't make a scene and I didn't say a word, but something should be done. Where there is one there are many. Suggestion......relocate or rebuild I know you will still get a lot of business.

Real home style Mexican food. We came across this place visiting downtown Stockton. I will have no problem driving from Brentwood to sit down to this type of food. Loved the charm, character and dated décor.

I've been eating at Xochi's since the late 80's and I've never gotten anything but excellent food. Service can be iffy depending on who's waiting on you, but I don't eat here for the service. It's good food in huge portions that has been amazingly consistent for the 20+ years I've been eating there. Is it a hole in the wall? Totally! But the food is the best Mexican in town, hands down. How good is it? Good enough that I'll come from the Bay Area to get it. See all those misspelled one-star reviews? Typical, rival restaurant owners or maybe people that have beef with the family/owners. Nice try, but you still fail.

I have been going to Xochimilco Cafe since I was 16 years old. I am over 50 now. This place is the real deal. We love this restaurant. When you see the Grandfather and his children eating there I really think it is safe. Those othe reviews do not know what real mexican food is. We have tried other mexican restaurants and compare them to Xochimilco Cafe. It is by far the best.

This is so not Mexican food. This is what Caucasians THINK is Mexican, but it isn't. Cmon, what's up with all that gravy lol?? Plus its dirty in there.

The food is good, if you like roach eggs in it, saw roaches on the walls and on the table we were sitting at gross!!!!!!!!!!! the Health dept should close that place down.

I think that Xochimilco is the real deal. Family were parent and children, Cousin, Uncle, Aunt all work together. This is True Soul Food Mexican Style.
