Texas Smokehouse BBQ, San Jose

You name it.....I've ate there....But Texas Smokehouse IS SIMPLY THE BEST!

Oh-so sketchy, but oh-so delicious: It's a tiny, dilapidated storefront with maybe two tables inside and an ex-propane tank smoker out front, but who's arguing when the food is so good? The meat is incredibly tender, full of flavor, and there's enough of it for at least two meals. The ribs are incredabile and the tri-tip is tha bomb! The Texas Smoke House is with out a doubt the best barbaque spot in town. The east side of San Jose is greatful for a great smoke house!

Been going to Larry's for about five years (has it been **that** long?). Tri-tip; ribs; hot links; catfish; beans. This place is small if you wish to eat there, but it grows on you. Ambience? That's a French word, isn't it? It's right for what it is -- down home. Larry and his BBQ oven are worth the trip. He and the crew work hard, and deliver a great meal. You need catering? He's got that covered too, all with very fair prices. Only wish he served a beer to wash it all back.

The flavors, the texture, and the quality of the food here is excellent. The tri-tip is the only thing I get and is worth traveling for. The sauces slight bite and perfect amount of char make this place the real deal. TRI-TIP you won't regret it. TRI-TIP

This place has the best BBQ I've ever tasted. The sauce is delicious and spicy. I've been to other BBQ joints, even the big name, popular places and none of them compare to Texas Smokehouse BBQ.

I love this funky little neighborhood place. It has absolutely the best BBQ I have ever eaten. It is a very tiny place with only 3 tables and no parking and a huge smoker out front, that is always filled to the brim with smoking ribs and chicken. They serve greens, potato salad, fried catfish, links, chicken, ribs and sweet potato pie among other things. It is definetely no frills, but the food is out of this world and enough for 2 meals. Very friendly down home place. I have a friend who drives 60 miles from Monterey to eat here!

Huge BBQ fan- The place is very small. Not much on the decor (Not there for the decor - there for the food). Parking? not really. The Basic Hole In The Wall Jewel the locals love. The food is by far the best I probably ever had. Actually beats some of the places in the Lone Star State. No Frills - Real slow cooked BBQ. Try the fish too - superb. Request Extra Sauce. It's not as good if it aint messy. And those running the place - nice folks. Busy as heck every time I'm there. Closed Modays tho - They need a break too!!!!
