Yesterday was my first time ever going there. Didn't know I had to put my name on a waiting list. I'm a very inpatient person, but i was told the food here is so good so I manages the wait.
The salsa and chips are sooooooooo good. The salsa is a little spicy just how i like it. Then my food came. Camarones ala diabla. OMG the bombbbbbb I loved it. I would definetly go there again. I told my husband I would just come here just to order beans. Those beans where really delicious
My friends and I are making plans to go eat there for lunch. Yes, we are going prepared. We will ask for an extended lunch. Cuz I know the wait is a little long. But, the wait is worth it. Don't really mind.
Oh and not to forget. Them waiters desearve a tip. They are supper fast in cleaning the tables to have it ready for the next custumer. And pass a few times to see if everything is okay with our food.
I love this place. The Super Tacos de Carnitas are my favorite. The Chavelas (which are not Margaritas by the way, they do not even serve Margaritas there) are superb. The wait for a table is sometimes 30 minutes, but hey take an ipod and wait because the food is delicious and the people are really nice.
me and my family have been going to the lincoln location for years and yes being called to a table is sometimes slow but to me that is because the chips-salsa-super chavelas-and the food is off the hook!!!we have NEVER felt rushed or hurried ever to finish our meals or drinks.as a matter of fact when my wife andi sit down not only do we get chips and salsa they also bring both of us our super chavelas-stop crying about the service cause the place is always packed and the waiters dont speak english!!!!
bottom line, if you don't know, you're not a local. the service here is the worst. WHO CARES! if you're with great people and you're looking for good food, this is where you wanna be. understand that these workers are underpaid, understaffed, busy as bees and barely speak english. THAT'S EXACTLY WHY THE FOOD IS AUTHENTIC AND TASTES SO AMAZING! it's fresh and made from family recipes. you either like it or you don't. if you don't, don't come back, please, it's less of a wait for us locals who love it.
This restaurant should be ashamed to be open for business. Not only is their restaurant understaffed they also lack common knowledge. Just 1 week ago i went with my family and they actually have posted on their walls signs saying basically to hurry, eat and get out because they want to move on to the next customer. I don't care how good or popular they might be, no restaurant should tell it's customers that. With the economy so bad they should we glad they're still in business. I for one never plan on going back!
May family and I have gone here many times (I've even had several dates here) and it is always wonderful. The food is terrific, some of the best i have ever had and I've been to many places in Mexico. The service is slow, so plan for a long meal, but the portions are large, their cooking is excellent and their drinks are great. This location also serves alcohol to those over 21 (some of their others don't) and they make great drinks.
I give this location a 5 star review. If you are looking for quality Mexican sit down dinner with friends, family, or business, THIS is the place to go to impress and have a great time.
i think taqueria tlaquepaque is the best mexican restaurant in the bay area (: && also , i think ppl who go eat at the restaurant haveto respect the restaurant rules , bcos' in evry place their rules one has too follow & that the restaurant rules ! I recomend this place to anyone who loves mexican food juss please follow the rules & respect the employees who are juss doin their workk !! Deucesss !
This place must really not care about their customers...
We're having a dinner party on Saturday for about 9 people. The plan is to get take out and eat at the house, so I've been trying to get a menu from both of their locations w/o any luck.
I asked to have one faxed over - the Willow St., fax is broken. I go over to get a take out menu, they don't have one. I ask if I can take a real one and just bring it back when we pick up the food on Saturday, I'm told no. I ask the owner to fax me a menu when he goes to the Lincoln Ave., location and he says he will, but nadda! I actually tried again today...once I was told the office was closed, so the fax was locked up. I call another time and was told they don't have a fax machine.
I've eaten at the Willow Street location about two times before and don't recall the service being that bad (I don't recall it being great either) but seriously, this is just so frustrating!!!
If the people coming over didn't want to try it so bad (they've heard great things about the food) I wouldn't bother.
After Saturday, I'm never ordering food or eating here again! And I just live about 3 blocks away. Actually, hopefully I can talk everyone into getting food from someplace else! I really don't want to give them any business!!!!!!!!!!!
The food is ok, but the service is the worst, at both the Lincoln and Willow locations. At the Willow location, they would not seat us until our entire (relatively large) party arrived. We were stuck with kids waiting outside. However, we noticed that if you were fluent in Spanish, you weren't subject to the same restrictions. I won't go back.
