This is a fairly down-to-earth place with good food and service. It's your typical (grab your number) deli setting, but the variety of dishes it offers is nice. There are plenty of sandwich options, but I prefer their warm plates. Pasta, lasagna, salads, and other baked/broiled goods are displayed in front of you as you order. This place does tend to get crowded during lunch, so you need to get there ahead or after the lunch rush, if you want a more quiet, relaxing atmosphere. The seating is also limited, but most of the customers tend to order to-go, rather than wait around for seating to become available. But, it's a place worth trying, since there should be plenty of dishes that you could select from. For me, the fact that they offered cannolis was enough to grab my attention. I was introduced to this place from a friend, and she definitely will have be going there again...
Before you go, remember to grab a number from the dispenser on the counter. There isn't really any sign warning you of this until you hear numbers called.
Once you have your number, wait and drool. The weekend bbq hotplates are pretty popular as well as their signature ravioli. Sandwiches are some of the best around.
You will wait a long time if you go at any hour of the day (at least 5 mins, sometimes 15!), but they serve you pretty well. One good thing is that they do have a parking lot which makes it more convenient to visit.
If you live or work in the San Jose area you must go to La Villa! Try their ravs with one of their sandwiches. The meats are always fresh and they have a wide selection bread to choose from. As for a sides get one of their salads and some green olives.
