Habana-Cuba, San Jose

This is the closest I can get to feel like I'm in Miami. It has taken a LONG time to finally find a Cuban restaurant in the area. The food and atmosphere is very good. Make me miss Miami and Cuba.

Having had Cuban food in Miami, it's been a challenge finding something out in the Bay Area. My husband and I finally decided to try this place and we were blown away on how good it was. It felt like we were back in Miami.

I went here with a group of friends for my birthday it was my first time having Cuban food. The good is very good. I really enjoyed it.

This is the best Cuban food in the Bay area. You must come and enjoy the great food and service. This is home cooking the Cuban way. Be sure to order traditional Cuban dishes so you get the best of what they have to offer. Ask your wait staff for suggestions. Go early or make reservations cuz this place gets very busy. Here are a few things we enjoy, avocado salad, chicken soup, mixed appetizer plate, Lechon, Ropa Vieja. Sad to say we have not found a dessert we like yet, if you must the flan is ok.

Amazing food! They have great waitstaff and the food is not too expensive. The restaurant is also very clean and have nice decor. There is a live band during dinner when we went there.

Very disappointing!! Was in Santa Clara to watch a Women's Professional Soccer match and wanted to tag a dinning experience to the day. Never had Cuban dishes before and was interested in something new. The meal at Habana-Cuba made me wish, I'd used my time more wisely. We started off with plantains and salsa and drinks. The salsa was definately from a jar and the plantains were very much like packing chips. We ordered the tamale and carne asada dinners. The tamale was sweet masa with sufrito (spicy tomato sauce with bell peppers, onions and green olives). Which was an unimpressive combination. The carne asada was basically pot roast in the sufrito. The meals came with chicken soup (chicken thigh, corn cob with noodles in a tomato soup base)that was OK, but didn't justify the experience. The dinning room was so poorly lit you couldn't see the bright paint scheme. The restrooms were dirty and poorly maintained and only God knows what the kitchen looked like. I will not visit this restaurant ever again. It was a waste of time and money.

Habana Cuba offers the best Cuban food in San Jose. They offer an affordable lunch menu to go along with a wonderful dinner menu. If you like Cuban food, you need to visit Habana Cuba.

Great Food only real lcuban place around reallly. Only 2 gripes. Takes forever to get your food and food is costly. I guess seeing that its the only cuban food in the area you have ot pay for it. All in all the food is pretty good. I would have the Ropa Vieja with the plantains and of course make aure you get some Sangria

Had the Fricase De Pollo which was very good. Really liked the plantains that came with the meal. My only disappointment was the garden salad which wasn't anything special - pretty run-of-the-mill salad with iceberg lettuce. The soup was a better option as it was in keeping with the Cuban cuisine.
