This is a wonderful place to dine. We had an event at this restaurant and everything was fantastic. The service is excellent and the food is highly pleasing. The owner and staff go out of their way to make sure your dining experience is flawless. Great place to have a private party. Simply perfect!
Nice small restaurant. Went on my birthday. By 7:30pm they had already run out of items from the menu and each of us had to substitute from our original order. The food was okay, nothing I would write home about. And overpriced considering we had to make so many substitutions.
This is a small restaurant right in restaurant row of San Pedro Street. Nice little outdoor eating area, larger-ish back room for larger groups. The food was very good, fresh, good flavors and nice variety from seafood to steak. It's billed as mediterranean grill, but that didn't come through strongly in the menu selection or style.
I was pleasantly surprised by the quality of the food at 71 Saint Peter. The service was so-so; they were out of certain wines and a few menu items. It didn't matter! I'd still give it 5 stars. I dined there with friends who are also picky about their restaurants and we all thoroughly appreciated the meal! The special was a baked salmon that was to die for. Loved the beet salad too.
Superb cuisine....excellent service, great food, nice location in the heart of downtown! Must taste the baby spinach salad, best one I've had in San Jose. Don't forget to ask for your free parking voucher.
71 Saint Peter is a great place for an intimate evening in downtown San Jose. The seasonal chef's tasting menus are a good deal (4 courses for $30) and the accompanying wines in the pairing (additional $15) are well chosen.
Pros: Tasting menu, free parking in the lot across the street after 6
Cons: No explanation of the wines offered in the pairing
