Original Joe's Restaurant, San Jose

I went to this place for the first time today and walked right out. my waiter was extreamly ride amd so i asked for another and it took for us to get up and leave. the waiter tried to tell us we ordered to much food and was very unbussiness like. I will never go there again.

Whoever was working at the door tonight made a very bad customer service choice. I wanted to get an order to go and was greeted by a locked door. No only was greeted by a locked door, but i was rudely chased away from the restaurant. I quote Who comes to a restaurant 12 minutes before close!!! Don t worry sir. I will never come to Original Joe s again. Unfortunately for you, I had roughly 50 clients coming to a trade show in San Jose next week (and will have many more for years to come) who wanted to go out to a nice dinner. I was about to make a reservation here. I m sure the owner would be happy to hear that he has lost so much business and will have negative recommendations now for years to come from your poor choice.

Avoid at all cost...... Better off going to Mcdonalds

Waited an hour to be seated, needed separate checks for party of 8, refused to accommodate. Had one piece of bread, tasted like it came from a grocery store. Whole party walked out. Matridee was rude and manager does not care about customers. Over all opinion, over priced crap.

The worst place I have ever eaten at in my life!!!! My friends and I are attending a conference at the San Jose Conference Center (which is about 2 blocks away) and dropped in for a quick lunch. Once we were seated it took about half an hour for our waitress to take our orders. Apparently they don’t like doing refills on drinks because we never got them until our food arrived about one hour in our meal. Our waitress and the rest of the restaurant staff very short with all of the customers and acted like we were unconvincing them. The quality of the food was fair, but not worth what they’re charging for it, especially with the major attitude the staff is putting on. After we finished, the waitress tried to refuse to split our checks, which we told her that if she wanted paid for the meals she would split them, which she finally did. She even had the nerve to tell us that if we came back tomorrow we would get one check for the whole party whether we liked it or not. We told her not to worry….cause we’ll never be back….. If you like mediocre food and a LOT of “tude” with your meal….then this is the place for you.

Horrible Service..... I had a party of 9 and could not be seated because they allow customers to hang out for hours after their dinner... Other customers have to stand and wait.... If people want to hang out and get drunk they should move to a bar and allow other customers to eat. My party of 9 walked out and eat elsewhere. There are 9 customers who will not return. I blame this on poor management..... The customer is NOT always right!!!

When we used to dine there in the 60's, the food was excellent along with class A service. Even though I have seen negative comments about it, I cannot in all honesty make a good judgement concerning Original Joe's now unless I dine there to judge for myself so I will rate it as I remember it.

Although the food is good and the restaurant beautiful with its renovation, tonight's service left quite a lot to be desired. When we arrived no one was at the front desk. It was several minutes before the party ahead of us was seated; and several more before the acting maitre d' seated us. We noticed later that the floor captain was schmoozing with other patrons while they ate their dinner. Our waiter greeted us in a timely manner, but then HE proceeded to flirt with another table, sitting and talking with them for a few minutes. He walked by our table several times, never asking if we were ready to order, although both our menus were closed. When we were finished, the busboys quickly boxed up our left overs; they were much more attentive, filling our glasses and removing plates as needed. Then there was ANOTHER wait for the check while our waiter simply disappeared. I've eaten there over the years and this was the first time I've seen this kind of inattention to patrons, or at least patrons who are not regulars. With this kind of treatment, it's unlikely I'd become a regular - there is after all another excellent, attentive Italian restaurant in the same price range right next door.

Food, service and drinks: EXCELLENT! Though on the weekends the wait for a table is awhile but it's well worth the wait. Wait in the bar area, have a few dinks, unwind....
