At first, I was in love with SCC. Now, I dont know if I've just OD'd on the food. I've tried everything. Salads, Sandwiches and the all time fave: Chicken Carbonara. Definatley a 3 star joint for big groups. Perfect in fact. You don't have to squabble over the bill and who had what. You can pay for your food at the counter on your own!
I don't know why I don't like this place, but I don't. I think the idea is a great one (healthy food, fast) but I am never pleased with what the food tastes like. I find that the entire experience is somewhat noisy and unpleasant. I'd rather pay a few extra dollars and eat in a normal restaurant, or a few less and go to Koo Koo Roo.
The food here is amazing. I have a family memeber who is a VERY picky eater, so normally we can only get huge chain food like McDonalds, but we can finally get good food for everyone, because the selection is wide, and there is always something for all. I would suggest getting a goat chesse fondu to split between 2-3 people for a starter
A great place to stop before an event at HP Pavilion. The ordering is quick, the prices are reasonable and the service is exceptional. Might I recommend the duck, the calamari and certainly the fondue as a few of the favorites amongst our friends and family.
I've been to this place several times at different times of the day... If you're looking for a place where just about everyone in the downtown area gathers for lunch, this is the place for you! Sometimes, the waiting line will form all the way out into the streets during the weekday lunch-rush hours (usually from 11:30-1:00pm), so the wait is a good 10-15 minutes. The line does move faster than it looks, but if you're looking for a quick-bite for lunch... this is not the place you want to go to. The parking isn't all that great either, so if you're pressed for time, look elsewhere. The food, on the other hand, is fairly good for what you pay. Although it appears more expensive than it is, the food seems to have a good taste and quality to it. It's not a family-style restaurant (although it resembles that more during dinner hours), but more of a trendy place where the typical downtowners get together with friends. It is ideal for grabbing a bite before a Sharks game, or a performance in the downtown area, since it is within walking distance to most of the theaters. They have a good selection of pizza, pasta, or chicken (of course) dishes, and their desserts aren't too bad either. For you first-timers... when you get there to wait in line, you can also move ahead towards the counter to grab a menu so you can review it while you stand in line... it helps move the line along faster when you don't have to wait until you get to the counter to decide what you want...
the coop is a great place to have a quick casual lunch or dinner. their chicken is quite good but my favorite dishes are their pastas. while you wait in line (dont worry it goes fast) they serve complimentary pieces of pizza! this is a great addition to downtown SJ and I wish they had more locations!
