8/30/2008 - Had reservations, and we where seated promptly. The waiter took our order for drinks, but it took a good 15 to 20 min, and he only brought 1/2 the order, had to wait another 5 to 10 min for the rest. We order appetizers, that took about 20 minutes to come out. The calamari was good, but the crab cakes where bland, did not even taste the crab. We ordered soup before our dinner. The dinner came before the soup, and that was a good 30 min after the appetizers. Dessert was the best part. Then the bill came, they automatically charged 18% tip, for a party of 6, but the menu and when I reserved stated for parties of 8 or more. We only gave 15%, but I wanted to leave less, since the order mix up was the waiters fault. The food was poor, and very little for the price. the veal was too very small slices.
I do not recommend this place at all. Do not know how it has 4 1/2 stars.
My fiance and I had dinner reservations for 8pm on Valentine's Day at Bella Saratoga. We waited over 45 minutes to be seated, despite our reservation. We waited about 10 minutes to see our waitress, about 20 minutes to get wine, and we were not served food (appetizers) until close to 10pm! When our meals finally came, our waitress apologized that one of our meals was not what was ordered because they had run out of angel hair pasta and the meat! While the restaurant was quaint and romantic as advertised, everything else about our experience was a severe disappointment and nothing close to being worth the money.
My girl and I went here for Valentine's Day. The place was packed, so it was a good thing we made reservations a couple of weeks ahead. We liked the romantic, cozy ambience and the fact that this place wasn't snooty at all. Plus the food was great and reasonably priced! So, we had great time overall. Parking is a big pain though. We had to walk three blocks!
My wife and I had lunch here on a Saturday afternoon after the regular lunch rush. We had a table outside, which was nice. Unfortunately, no one from the wait staff came to our table for a long while to see if we wanted to order drinks. Then, our waitress took our lunch and drink order at the same time. We then waited, and waited, and waited some more. Forty-five minutes from the time we sat down we still didn't even have our appetizers. I went in and spoke to the hostess about it. About 10 minutes later, our appetizers arrived, followed immediately by the rest of the order. The food tasted great, but we were too upset by the service to really enjoy it.
