Description

This is one of the oldest Japanese restaurants in San Jose, and it offers a free meal on your birthday. Okayama Restaurant is a great place to have donburi dishes for lunch or a spectacular variety of salmon disheseither fried or broiled or cooked in soy sauce. The decor is traditional Japanese and so is the service. Banquets of up to 100 are accommodated. The place closes relatively early, so make sure you allow yourself enough time.

The food's generally quite good here, but I come back often because they have tasty katsu curry. This inevitably means that I miss out on the excellent combination bento boxes, which is too bad because they are just that - excellent.

The food is delicious, the portions are plentiful, and I especially love the fact that you can order a '2-entree'(combination) or '3-entree'(pyramid) meal, depending on your appetite. The service was friendly and courteous, everyone with a smile. I've been there many times and I have recommended this restaurant many times to anyone who is 'not sure they will like Japanese food'.

My family has been coming here for years. The waitresses are always friendly, the owner always stops by to say hello, their nabeyaki-udon is the best, and I love their green tea ice cream!

Small and cozy. The menu is full of interesting and slightly more unusual combinations and possibilites than traditional Japanese menus. And, of course, the food is yummy!

For cooked dishes, Okayama is the most decent Japanese Restaurant in San Jose Japan Town. Must try their Korean Beef. If you like something very very light, try mizutaki- a clear broth dish with veggi, mushroom ..etc.

I been going for a least 27 years to this restaurant. I been going since the current owners mother owned to restaurant. This place reminds me of my mother's cooking. I love their pyramid dinners. I also love their salad dressing. You can't go wrong, with anything there. When I'm in San Jose, I come to eat here.
