Don't give up on this cafe. I am in the process of purchasing it, and I will make all the changes needed to bring it back to life. For those who enjoy it already, it will get even better. For those who used to enjoy it, but have been disappointed lately, come back after we take over and give it another shot. We WILL make it right for you.
this restaurant is a classic, its one of my favorites, the reggae music is always great and the coffee is tastee, i always order eggs over easy, sausage and hashbrowns with rye toast and it was good. the girlfriend was impressed with the tofu scrambled and it was a full point and a half barrell bonus ride for me. for good memorys and good food. best time to arrive is 8:00 am usually a table open. the place is small so dont be late.
YUCK! breakfast burritos are supposed to have at least 3 things; eggs, potatoes and meat, these way overpriced burritos have way too many eggs and almost no meat/hashbrowns... its almost disgusting to eat, and i recently saw they raised their prices... almost $7.00 for a crappy burrito is not a good thing... Chill out is for San Jose Barney's and tweakers... eat at Elizabeths market on the point, WAAAAY better, and almost $2.00 cheaper for a superior burrito, I hope this price adjustment leaves chill out, out-of-business... they've chilled out too much and forgot how to make a good breakfast burrito...
They actually make good coffee, which is hard to find in Santa Cruz. Whatever, im a picky coffee drinker - so you know Chillout is a good bet, and Ive tried most coffee shops around. Their food is not bad either, this place cooks up a great b-fast burrito. Just wish they were open a little later.
The Chill-out cafe is a great place to have coffee and a breakfast burrito after a surf at Pleasure Point. Great staff and good music, nice indoor/outdoor feel, highly recommend the vegetarian breakfast burritos
Chill out Cafe on 41st Avenue in Santa Cruz is a great place to relax and eat with friends after surfing. Breakfast burritos are Chill Out's specialty. The food is very fresh and the atmosphere is relaxed.
Don't let the outside appearance fool you, Chill Out Cafe is defintely worth visiting.
