I love this place!!! The food is awesome and the servers are very knowledgeable. They have a very extensive menu which can cater to anybody's taste buds. I especially love the rolls!!! I don't think I have had anything I didn't enjoy. I even got talked into trying Uni (sea urchin) for the very first time...not as bad as it looks. The atmosphere is pretty chill and family friendly. I could see why kids love to come here...there is a train that hauls food around the bar, what a hoot! I've tried many sushi restaurants every where I go and this by far is the BEST!! Every thing is fresh, delicious, and addicting. Beware the Crunch Roll is bait on a line for all you Roll Lovers...lol. Oh yeah, be sure you call for reservations on the weekends...they tend to be busy, but worth the wait!
Good food in a fun, friendly atmosphere. Diners have a choice of sitting at a table or the sushi bar. Tables are best for conversation, but if you're starving and want food NOW the sushi bar can't be beat.
The sushi is carried by a working model train. If you don't see what you want, you can ask the sushi chefs to make you something, or you can order off the menu.
This restaurant can get very busy, and at times you may have to wait a while for your order. It's better to come a little early for dinner, especially on weekends. At the sushi bar, some pices start looking old so take a good look before you grab it, or wait for more fresh items to be added.
This quaint small town favorite is a great place for the family. The sushi is great and the wait staff if consistently friendly. They have a crunchroll that is delicious and the family seems to fight for the last piece. Their Joe’s Roll is a mouth stuffer. If you have kids, the atmosphere is perfect. Rather than the typical boats circling the sushi chefs, they have an electric train that makes the rounds, sound and all. They offer kid’s plates that come on a fish-shaped dish, and their meal is finished with a scoop of ice cream. If you have a hungry toddler who can’t wait, they’ll bring out a bowl of rice with a little teriyaki sauce to hold ‘em over. They even add extra tofu in your miso soup upon request, which is a favorite of my kids.
Here at ATC Taekwondo, we have a problem with sharing our Ichiban Crunchrolls. Every time one of us gets one, its a fight around here. They're so darn good! It's nearby, the sushi iis always fresh and the employees are always real friendly. Don't see why we would go elsewhere. Only problem I see is how to get mine back to the dojang without having to share it.
My husband & I have been to Sushi Ichiban at least 5 times in the last 6 months & are always impressed with their sushi. We have been to quite a few different sushi places in San Jose, San Francisco & even Fremont, this place really has the freshest & best tasting sushi. The fish is fresh, especially the tuna & salmon. Our favorite rolls are the Valentine, Phat Joe & Super California. If you love sushi, this is the place to go!
