Kiantis Pizza & Pasta Bar, Santa Cruz

The waiter was nice.. . and although it was busy we got a table right away... however.... the kitchen did a real bad job... we ordered a pizza w/out cheese and 3 toppings. We got a pizza shell with about 2 cups of marinara sauce, 11 pine nuts, and a few shreds of basil and spinach... they charged me for 3 toppings still... no thought went into that at all.... lame.

One month ago I moved across the street from Kiantis.. I was so excited about trying every place downtown and writing reviews.. First was Kiantis (being the closest).. But I cant get any farther than that! The food is amazing and the service is even better! On my first visit the owner introduced herself (Tracy) and remembers me every time I come in.. you have to realize that I see hundreds of people a day coming and going from there so that’s pretty impressive… a couple of the waitress’s already have my Hefeweizen on the way as I walk in.. (on tap and in a large pilsner glass’s, no scrimping here). It so fun to watch the shows (flaming oven, pizza spinning and dancing waiters/waitress’s) every Friday & Saturday nights from my living room! The only con is I have to start using the gym so I can keep up my pizza, calzone & beer diet!

It's a nice place for a casual evening out.

Good food and not too expensive.

Good for a special occasion. Great food and service. Wonderful wine list. Reservations recommended

Good hangout for people watching.

Our family visited Santa Cruz during trip up the coast and we wandered the downtown looking for a place to eat. Rejecting burgers, mexican and breweries, we saw Kianti and wandered in. Delicious aromas and friendly smiles made in an instant decision. Service was prompt and friendly, the wine list is interesting and the food was plentiful and good. We definitely recommend Kianti and will go back again for sure

The food is good, but not the best I've had in Santa Cruz. The restaurant was a bit crowded and the seating wasn't set up very well to handle that many people.

One of the pbest pesto pizzas I have ever had was here. The combination of pesto and tomato was excellent.
