Hungry Hound, Santa Clara

I like hungry Hound, It is a good resturant for a small family and large. It doesnt really matter what knd of family you have. I know that when I ever go there they never mess up my order or anyone who goes there with me. It is a very good resturant. You should go. I hope?!

This long-time, family-owned local hang-out has great food, service, and prices! Their potato salad is the best I've ever had -- nothing like the sweet mustardy one you find at all the supermarkets and fast food places. They have something for everyone on the menu -- burgers, hot dogs, and all kinds of meaty sandiches (steak, pastrami, Philly, etc.) The portions are substantial and the price is very reasonable. My boyfriend grew up in Santa Clara and considers this one of the few good local eateries that has survived the era of franchise fast food for over three decades...maybe because it's right next to Santa Clara University and because it offers exactly what people want. I have lived in other cities and states and this place ranks right up there with the best small, local, family-owned eateries. If I leave the area and come back to visit, I'll look for the Hungry Hound to still be serving up great food.

Hungry Hound is a great place to get a bite to eat. They have a wide variety of fare considering it is American food for the most part. They have sausages, hamburgers, and even steaks. And for those who are lucky enough, you can get a good breakfast. I only wish they were opening for longer hours (earlier and later), but they are consistently good food. This restaurant is a must for anyone near Santa Clara University or just passing through.
