Jeffrey's Restaurant, Santa Cruz

Worst service EVER! We went there for a late dinner (~9:00 pm on a Thursday) and had the worst service we have ever had in a restaurant. There were 3 waitresses in the restaurant and 11 guests (including us) but after waiting 20 minutes for a waiter to come over to take our orders, we started getting annoyed. After me going up to the counter asking if we can order, they came over. Our food (a hamburger and a salad) arrived after 25 minutes, which isn't horrible, but felt long since there was noone there! The hamburger wasn't cooked thoroughly at all but we decided it wasn't worth sending back because then we'd NEVER get to eat. So my husband ate his fries and we shared my salad (which was fine). Then we waited and waited for our check. Nothing. We decided maybe they were'nt coming over since there was still more than 3/4 of a burger on the table....so we made it clear by placing napkins on the plate. No reaction. The waitress was too busy chatting up the group of old men seated near us. Finally, after patiently waiting 30 (!!!!!) minutes for our check, I went up to the counter and asked if they wanted us to pay for this dinner, because this was ridiculous. Of course, they wanted us to pay, so I did, just to get out of there. We left no tip and told the cashier that we were extremely disappointed and would never come back. He just shrugged......
